Since it's Friday, I would like to share with you my thrilling news!!! I have been invited to be on the Design Team of Friday Sketchers, an international sketch challenge blog. As much as I enjoy working with sketches, this is really going to be an exciting adventure for me. You are cordially invited to participate in this fun and stimulating challenge blog which presents a weekly challenge every Friday. This week marks the first year anniversary of this blog and there will be a number of prizes to be won. Each DT member will send to a selected winner the card we each have made this week as well as a RAK...so please come join us!! This is the RAK that I will be sending some lucky person along with my card. So come on over and join us for all the fun and challenge and be sure to visit the other DT's blogs and you may get some sneak peeks of their RAKs/surprises also!

I made the following card based upon the challenging (for me!! lol) sketch by Carole from England.

For this 6"X6" card I used Bazzill CS for the base, PTI Lemon Tart for the matting, and all the DP is from Making Memories Flower Patch. I used little Tilda with Bee from the new Chasing Butterflies Collection 2009, which is in-house right now at Magnolia-licious! I know that for everyone that is exciting and happy news!!! We all know what Diana is doing these days for sure!!! I also used the Pot with Spring Onions and the Wrapped Violet.
For the front of the card, I used 2 Tildas and 2 pots so that I could add alot of dimension by layering them. All coloring on this card is Copics and all panels are stitched. In addition the bee has Diamond Stickles on his wings. I added eyelet to one panel and laced it with yellow satin ribbon. I also added a couple of flower buttons to the base of the pot for grounding purposes and made sure that the little bee button was swirling around over Tilda's head by a touch of piercing. To soften Tilda's seat I added a very little bit of mixed green and ivory FlowerSoft. The front is finished with tiny yellow button brads on the corners.

For the first panel on the inside of the card I again used laced eyelet and dangled a tiny flowerpot charm from the ribbon. And on the jotting panel I placed an oval nestie with the Wrapped Violet...you can see that I made the violet into a peach/yellow pansy to match the DP...lol To add a bit of interest to the 'pansy' I added another tiny touch of the mixed FlowerSoft to this pot also.
I hope you have enjoyed my first contribution to Friday Sketchers and will join us every week for our fun challenges!!
I agree with Diana, this Chasing Butterflies Collection is just tooooooooo cute. And it is so much fun to play with!!
I would like to remind everyone of the Butterfly Wings challenge and of Sharon's wonderful sketch challenge for May which are both going on over at Magnolia-licious. You can email the pictures of your cards to ladydian@shaw.ca any time during the month of May.
Many thanks for dropping by and hope you have enjoyed it. Big Hugs to all of you!!
