Happy Monday everyone and I hope you have all had a marvelous weekend and are looking forward to a great week! It has been in the mid 70's (23.8C) here so all is well! But I know that more cold is on its way soon so I am not jumping for joy quite yet!! Can you tell I am a spring and summer person?? lol
Today is the new challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge and for this two weeks it's ANYTHING GOES!!!! How exciting is that?!?! And as usual there is a marvelous prize provided by Wild Orchid Crafts...and before you even have a peek at the prize this time, I'm sure you all know that this shop has the most gorgeous flowers, etc in all of Cyberia!!! In addition they ship so quickly AND their customer service is magnificent!
For my DT ANYTHING GOES project, I decorated a papier mache tissue box and then made a matching card.

For the card I used Bazzill for the base and for all double matting. The DP is by Maja Designs and all panels are machine stitched. The DP and the gorgeous dragonfly charm on the tissue box are gifts from my wonderful friend Gunilla. If you check her blog you may find that she has some of the dragonflies as well as angels for sale! They are lovely!!!! For the horizonal I used a 1.25" Ivory Silk ribbon tied into a double bow to dangle a heart charm. The cute little Tilda with Butterfly Dress is from the brand new Butterfly Dreams Collection at Magnolia-licious. Although she is not available right at the moment, I'm sure she will be in as soon as Diana receives the remainder of this new release! She was colored with Copics, with a touch of Stickles on the flowers and on the lace. You can barely see them, but underneath the flowers I have used 2 different colors of doilies made with the French Pastry Doily Die by Cheery Lynn. All of the floral treatment is by Wild Orchid Crafts: Gardenia Stem Flower, 25mm Wild Roses, 15mm Open Roses, 6mm Closed Rosebuds, all resting on MS punched rose leaves. To finish the card I used some beautiful Pearls from WOC. Gosh I forgot to take pictures of the inside but it is just quite simple and more of the same papers.
And now for the tissue box...I am no photographer so this is the best that I can show you for the box and I hope the pics are acceptable and can give you an idea of what the box looks like....

I first painted the papier mache box with dark eggplant acrylic paint and then affixed the four double matted and machine stitched panels using papers from the same Maja line to the sides of the box. Of course I used Scor-Tape galore for this project...lol...so I know it will stay together for sure!!! Around the upper edge of the box I added an Ivory Guipure Lace and an ivory silk bow to hold the lovely dragonfly charm. The floral treatment on the top of the box consists of the same flowers as the card with the addition of an ivory 40mm Trellis Rose. I also used a Silver Filigree Metal Corner and a couple of organza jeweled butterflies from my stash.
I hope you like my little creation and will decide to join us over at the Wild Orchid Challenge this time. I would love for you to drop on over and have a look at the absolutely gorgeous creations which the DT has made for this challenge!
