H&S Tea Party at Midnight Madness 20

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I hope that this finds you all having a marvelous weekend! We have had a very rainy one so another stay inside weekend for me.

This is the challenging sketch over on Midnight Madness 20 that I used for this card...however I did turn the sketch on its side. If you have not visited this challenge blog, I can assure you that their challenges are alot of fun and the site is filled with ideas and excellent tutorials.

For my card I used Bazzill CS for the base, all matting is PTI Ocean Tides and Hibiscus Burst, and the DP is from the Cosmo Cricket "Jolly By Golly". Ribbon is satin PTI also. I used one of my favorite hÄnglar & stÄnglar stamps...I love tea and tea parties so this is right up my alley!! Not so long ago I traveled the Southeast doing tea and etiquette training and hosting tea parties for both adults and young ones. What fun that was!!!

The image was stamped twice and colored with Copics with a touch of Spica and silver alcohol ink. One of the images was propped up on foam tape for dimension. I also used Puffy Velvet for the trim on the Santa hats. Naturally, instead of the oval I used a bow and of course a tea pot charm as well as a tea cup charm. I CB'd the solid panel using the snowflakes...it ended up showing so little that I don't know why I bothered, in retrospect...lol To finish the front of the card I added 3 sizes of pearls colored with copics to match the Ocean Tides paper.

And the inside is just simply the same papers, a few buttons, and a bit of the same ribbon...I did use the little Maggie table from the Pet and Animal Collection.

Thank you so much for your visit!! I would appreciate your letting me know what you think of these cuties making way for their tea party...Have a wonderful evening and a delightful and enjoyable Sunday!! Big hugs to each of you!!!

Tilda With Pumpkin at Friday Sketchers 71

Wooooohooooo!!! It's Friday!!! So a very happy Friday to everyone!!! That means it's Friday Sketchers time!!

This week is hosted by the magnificently talented Jeanette from Canada who has made for us a fun and exciting sketch for certain!!!! I hope you will come over to Friday Sketchers to see the absolutely lovely sample cards from the other Design Team members. Please join with us this week in showing us your card using Jeanette's splendidly fun sketch.

I used Bazzill for the base, SU CS for all matting, and all the DP is BG Eerie. I also used little cute Tilda With Pumpkin from the Autumn and Halloween Collection 2008 -- she is coming VERY soon to Magnolia-licious so you better grab her as soon as she is available!!!! Tilda was stamped twice, colored with Copics, cut out, and propped up on dimensional tape. After stitching all of the major panels both inside and outside I realized that I wanted something more pronounced on the front so I added black rick rack...why do I always have to look that word up in the dictionary??? lol...I also used part of a batwing in one corner which was a gift from the very talented Claudia, who I hope doesn't mind that I did surgery on the bat to make it look like a spider web...I also added a Halloween button and a bat button and made a dangle charm from a pumpkin bead. Then I added a touch of lavender organza ribbon and Prima flower and a bit of Autumn FlowerSoft at Tilda's feet. The front was finished!!!! Then I got very brave and decided to emboss the Spider, which is available now at Magnolia-licious. Wrong decision!!! I did all of the correct things, I thought!!! But embossing powder went everywhere at about the time the heat gun came on...lolol...I took this picture because it had to be ready for the FS blog...I DID NOT GIVE TILDA A NOSE!!!! but I have had to replace that whole Tilda panel....sigh....BUT the next time I did the Spider FIRST!!!!! lolol

The inside of the card was a bit time consuming this time and I hope you will click on the above picture so you can read the names on the tombstones....Too Funny!!!! On the first panel I made a door and a MS punched fence using some wood paper from Sue at McMahon Five Designs. That is amazing paper, let me tell you!!! I added a few Caspers, a bat button, a black cat button on the fence, a tombstone for I.M. Knotwell, and a spooky tree. The doorknob and hinges are Stickles. Finally I added more FlowerSoft to the base of the fence and tree. And when you open that cute door......there's a skeleton and a Casper and a BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
And for the jotting panel I used a stickled spider web in the corner, another spooky tree button, a Casper, and a tombstone for MRS. ANITA NEWBODY!!!!!! hahahhahahah...So Do I!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for coming by to see what's happening here and I would appreciate it alot if you would let me know what you think of my spooky/funny Halloween card!!! Have a delightfully wonderful weekend...and I hope you will come back to see me real soon...Maggie hugs for everyone!!!!

Bad Kitty at Friday Sketchers 70

Happy Friday to Everyone and I certainly hope you all have had a magnificent week!! AND it's weekend...so have a fun and safe one!!!

Today is Week 70 at Friday Sketchers and MY week to host so I am looking forward to each of you coming on over to check out the lovely cards my fellow DT members have made using my sketch. I would also love to invite you to join with us this week and create a card using this same sketch, submit it to us, and be sure to link Friday Sketchers in your post. My sincere thanks to DIGITAL STAMP OASIS for sponsoring this week at Friday Sketchers.

The card base is Bazzill and all matting is PTI Dark Chocolate and Kraft. All DP is digital. I used little Tilda with Cat from the Pet and Animal Collection 2009, stamped twice for dimension, colored with Copics, and cut out. The expression on this little kitty's face looks a bit forlorn to me so obviously I wanted to make sure that he had done something wrong -- unrolling the ball of yarn...lol...I added a MEOW charm/slide and a paw print charm to match the DP. Finally I added flowers from the June Chocolate and Vanilla bloom kit from Crafty Feeling, and bronze pearls to the corners. I also used the new MS 3 dots and scallop border punch.

For the inside I used some coordinating papers, added some satin ribbon and another kitty charm. I just couldn't let the card end on a bad kitty note so I used a very happy Hanging Cat, a tiny bow, and what was leftover after a nice dinner...lolol...a tiny silver fish skeleton charm!!!! Doesn't that look like a very happy kitty???

This card will be on its way to little 3 year old Maya in Ontario...SweetiePie, I hope you like your kitty card and your surprises!!! Big huggie for you!!!

Thank you so much for visiting me and I love reading your comments!! I try to respond to all of them but so many times I cannot track down your email address. So if you haven't heard from me, please know that I appreciate each and every one of you...Have a fun Friday and an even more splendid weekend...I hope to see you back here real soon!! Maggie hugs to all!!!!

Tilda Gathers Mushrooms for Midnight Madness 19

A very Happy Wednesday to everyone! I hope that all of you are well and having a splendid week. Thank you so much for dropping by to see what I am up to this rainy, dreary day!

I have made this card for the Midnight Madness 19 Challenge blog. I used Bazzill CS for the base, PTI CS for all matting, and the DP is from Cosmo Cricket's Mini Deck Earth Love. I have also used Tilda Gathers Mushrooms and Death Cap Mushrooms which I can't find in the index at Magnolia-licious but I am sure Diana will try to get them for you if you are interested!!! They make really cute fall images...as a matter of fact they are from the Halloween and Autumn Collection 2008.

All major panels, both inside and outside were stitched. Tilda was stamped three times, colored with Copics and dotted with Stickles on the wings and cut out...The bottom 2 images are used in their entirety, but the third image is only the arms, top of jumper and mushrooms. I also used Glassy Accents on her little Wellies. I used the sketch very closely adding PTI ribbons for the 5 left side dots, including 2 mushroom charms. I finished the front with butterscotch pearls in the corners and MS punched branches and Prima Gallery Roses Pierre which I sprayed lightly with copics to get a hint of the butterscotch color.

The inside is very simple adding a repeating bow from the front and another mushroom charm. The jotting panel has the Death Cap Mushrooms stamped on the left and colored with Copics.

I hope you like this little girl and will come back to see me often!! Please leave me a note letting me know what you think of her!!!! Again, thank you so much for taking the time to visit...Bunches of Maggie hugs for you!!

Goodnight, Lida for Midnight Madness 18

Gosh I am running late!!! I have had a few problems with elderly parents...soooooo a very Happy Tuesday to you!!! I had so much difficulty with this sketch over at Midnight Madness this past week, but I was determined to make a card with it.

I used Bazzill CS for the base, all matting is PTI, and the sparkly DP is unknown. I made use of that darling Goodnight, Lida which is a Papilio stamp from Norway and I think they are just precious!!!! She is stamped twice, colored with Copics, cut out and propped up on dimensional tape. I used star buttons and moon and added yellow rhinestones for some sparkle...Although you can't see it in the picture I did add tiny yellow silk ribbon behind the star buttons...I searched everywhere for buttons that would match those on Lida's gown...lol. Finally I added primas and a couple of little yellow roses from Crafty Feeling, some punched MS branches, and last, but not least, a wee, tiny teddy bear charm to match the one Lida is holding!!! You know I had to have a charm somewhere...lol

I have not completed the inside yet but will add that later.

Thank you so much for dropping by today to check out my little corner of the world...so please come back soon and see how my Maggies are doing...Big hugs to everyone!!!

Tilda Decorates for Christmas at Friday Sketchers 69

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Oops....I mean Happy Friday!! I hope you have had a delightful week and are looking foward to a fun and enjoyable weekend!!

This week at Friday Sketchers 69 we are being hosted by the marvelously talented Jacqueline of The Netherlands who has given us a very interesting sketch for the week.. We hope that you will drop over and check out the DT sample cards which were made using Jacqueline's sketch, and will join with us in creating your own card this week with this same sketch!! Please remember to link your posting in a comment and then link Friday Sketchers in your posting. We want each of you to be eligible for this week's splendid prize from Scrapbook News and Review!! So come on over and play with us!!!!

I don't know where my brain was when I got in mind the card for this week...Christmas is the least thing on my mind these days!! lol...but anyway, admittedly, this sketch was a difficult one for me for sure.. The base of my card is Bazzill, the matting is PTI Pure Poppy CS and SU Glorious Green CS, and the DP is bits of old wrapping paper and digital. I used Tilda With Glitter, Tilda Decorating Christmas Tree, and Christmas Tree which are all from Magnolia-licious, the bestest place in the world to buy Maggies!!!! It looks as though every one of these stamps is now available too!! And it is NOT too soon to be thinking about those holiday cards and rounding up those cute munchkins you intend to use on them!!

I first stamped the two little Tildas, colored them with Copics, and cut them out...then I bit the bullet and started cutting holes in all of the papers for the front of the card using Nesties. After matching up all of the openings I used a larger Nestie and a smaller one to make the green wreath forms...one for inside and one for outside. I placed a square of acetate between all the layers to make the window--sorry about the reflection in the picture!! I then put heavy FlowerSoft on each of the wreath forms and wrapped them with tiny red silk ribbon. for the front wreath I left a tail of ribbon so that little Tilda could be holding the end rather than the glitter. Notice that I cut a little half moon on Tilda's hand so the ribbon could go through it...I probably should have done the same on her other hand, but her thumb is too tiny for me to see...lolol. After putting all the layers together for the front, I added red rhinestones to the wreath for some sparkle, two red organza bows with wreath charm dangles and finally added red pearls to soften the corners. Tilda was propped up on dimensional tape and the ribbon run through her hands.

For the inside, I added the other wreath and decorated it with tiny red pom poms, added another red organza bow and an old time Santa charm. I then stamped the Christmas tree on Cryogen white and colored with Copics...I decorated the tree with shaped rhinestones, added Tilda on dimensional tape and these little girlies are READY for the holidays!!!! I did add some Glossy Accents to the ornaments and Diamond Stickles to Tilda's wings. AND I did color her hairbow red AFTER I took this picture...lol

Thank you so very much for dropping by to check on us!!! I just love to hear what you think of my latest play things!!! I hope you will all have a magnificent weekend--safe and fun!!! And hope you will come back and see me again real soon...Maggie hugs for everyone!!!

Guest Designer at Danni's Flutter By Wednesday

Happy Wednesday to everyone!! I hope that everyone had a magnificent weekend and if you didn't get to have a Monday off, I hope you had a great weekend anyway!!! For many of us, this will be short week! So enjoy!!

I was asked by Danni at the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge Blog if I would be a Guest Designer this week to help celebrate her 40 year milestone birthday. Danni is such a sweetie so who in the world could refuse?? I was asked to make a card using a butterfly or a fairy. Danni, thank you so much for this distinguished honor and I hope you like what I have created this time!!

I used Tilda as Butterfly and Tilda with Butterfly, both from Magnolia-licious, the most awesome web shop in all of North America for Maggettes. You can check out the inventory and you will find a greater selection of Magnolias than in any other shop in all of North America...AND you will find the best customer service offered than at any other web shop in the world!!!! I wanted to do something a little different and special for this occasion so I used the Stand Up Card Template with Hanging Centerpiece which is available from Priscilla. This was a FIRST for me!! I have also used the envelope box kit which is also available at Priscilla's blog. I used extra heavy white CS as the base and then added coordinating digital DP to each side of the card. Keep in mind that you will need oversize CS because the card itself is longer than 12 inches. I can also share with you that I would not even attempt this kind of card nor the envelope without the use of Scor-Tape, which in my estimation is the most fantastic product on the market as far as adhesives are concerned.

After handstitching around the entire card with DMC floss I made the hanging centerpiece with Label One Nesties, stamped and colored the two Tildas with Copics, fashioned some sparkly wings of chiffon fabric around a wire frame, sequins, and glitter for one of them and made antennae from pink floral wire wrapped around a toothpick...lol I then connected the centerpiece to the card using eyelets and gold chain. You really can't tell from the pictures but there are two little arms that fold out to make the centerpiece hang out from the card.

I decorated the inside of the card quite simply and left a jotting spot for a note and then made one of the envelope boxes I mentioned above and decorated it to match the card. This card folds flat and fits nicely in this presentation box.

Thank you so much for dropping by today to see what's happening on my homefront!! I love it when you visit and let me know what you think of my meanderings!! As I suggested, this project was a little different so if I have failed to describe it well enough, please jot me an email and I will try my best to answer your questions. Have a wonderful rest-of-the-week and I hope you will come back to see me again real soon....Maggie Hugs to everyone!!!

THE WINNER OF MY CARD AND THE RECIPE ACCORDION FILE AT THE MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS DT SKETCH FOR SEPTEMBER IS:

TRACEY who commented:

CONGRATULATIONS, Tracey, and if you would please send me your address I will ship these off to you right away along with some other surprises!!!

Chef Tilda at Friday Sketchers 68

A very Happy Friday to everyone!!! I hope that you have had a delightful week and are looking forward to a fun and safe weekend...for those in the US it will be a long weekend too!! Happy Labor Day!!!!

Today is Week 68 at Friday Sketchers which is being hosted by the very talented and lovely Heidi of Norway. As a matter of fact, this is Heidi's last week at Friday Sketchers since she is embarking on a new career path and will begin her educational pursuits in the very near future. With Heidi's leaving we at Friday Sketchers welcome Aud from Norway who is also very talented.

We hope you will join with us this week by visiting the Friday Sketchers blog to see the wonderful cards made by the DT using Heidi's fun and exciting sketch. We would love to see your interpretation of the sketch!! Please link your card in your comment and remember to also link back to Friday Sketchers in your blog post in order to be eligible for the weekly prize. The wonderful prize this week is provided by Ladybug and Friends.

For my sample card I used Bazzill CS for the base, PTI and Prismatics for the matting, and all DP is digital. You will note that in order to accommodate the vertical image I selected I had to turn the sketch on its side. All major panels, both on the front and inside, are stitched. I used a cute Chef Tilda from the new A Little Yummy for Your Tummy Collection which is now available for pre-order at Magnolia-licious. Since I didn't have the darling stove which is now available at Magnolia-licious, I used a Hanglar cabinet to perch little Tilda on. Tilda and the cabinet were stamped twice, colored with Copics, and cut out so they could be more dimensional. I used a bit of Spica on the hardware and Glossy Accents on the glassware on the cabinet. I also added a couple of bands of organza ribbon, a set of mixing spoons, several turquoise primas and a Baked With Love sign. I also added tiny pink button brads to the corners of the image panel and completed the front with a chef's hat charm in the lower left corner. After I took the picture, I added Glossy Accents to her little turquoise Crocs too...lol

The inside is quite simple. On the first panel I repeated the bands of organza ribbons and added bows to each band along with several charms...cookbook, measuring cup, oven mitt. For the jotting panel I merely added a bow and a rolling pin button.

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening here. I hope you have enjoyed my little Tilda and will let me know what you think of her. If you have questions about anything I have done, please jot me an email and I will try to answer your questions. Please come back real soon...So, until next time...be safe and enjoy your weekend!! Hugs and more hugs to each of you!!!

Kitchen Tilda for Magnolia-licious Sketch for September

Happy Wednesday evening everyone and a very happy September to each of you!! This month's sketch challenge is a bit different and so much fun to play with!! This month the assignment was given by Diana of Magnolia-licious herself and it is to make an wee accordion file using the instructions given here. The DT at Magnolia-licious were given the directions and we will each interpret the project in different ways. Since I had just received the Fall kit from Magnolia-Sweden I couldn't wait to use little Kitchen Tilda which is available for pre-order right now at Magnolia-licious--and my goodness!! What a group of cuties this A Little Yummy for Your Tummy is!!!!

Since the image is kitchen related, I decided to make a small recipe file and matching recipe cards. Little Tilda was stamped twice and colored with Copics; then was given dimension by only using the head and pinafore over the full image. The RECIPE tag is computer generated. I also used a gingham bow rather than the tab given in the instructions.

I also made a matching card using this week's sketch at Midnight Madness. I added sheer organza bows on each side of the gingham horizontal band to hold two tiny whisk charms...and the two buttons to hold back the corner folds are rolling pin buttons tied with DMC floss.

I hope you like this little set and will join with us in designing your own Wee Accordion File to submit to Magnolia-licious High-lites by September 30 for a chance at a wonderful $25 gift certificate to Magnolia-licious.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see what is happening in my little corner of the world!! If you would like to win this accordion file, 18 recipe cards, and the matching card, please leave me a comment before Tuesday, September 8 at Midnight EST. The winner will be selected at random. Please check out the Project Post at Magnolia-licious High-Lites to see the wonderful samples that the DT have made for you...and please join with us so that we can see your interpretations on this FUN project...Again, many thanks for your visit and I hope you will come back often...Big Magnolia-licious hugs for each of you!!!
