Hello everyone!! I am so happy that you could drop by to see me today!! Since it is the first of the month it is time for the Magnolia-licious DT Sketch challenge for the month of May. This time Becca has designed for us quite a challenging (for me) sketch. The sketch and the DT sample cards can be seen over on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. I hope you will join us this month and show us your interpretation of Becca's sketch for a chance to win a stamp of your choice from Magnolia-licious.
For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, PTI Smokey Shadow and Summer Sunrise for all matting, and the glittery DP is from MME Home Glitter Book. The background panel was machine stitched. To satisfy the corner requirement I used very ornate silver metal cornerpieces set on Smokey Shadow CS which hopefully evoke the atmosphere of a castle...they look black in the photos but actually they are dark gray. I stamped Castle Window on Cryogen White and colored it with Copics. To add dimension and some Olde World charm I covered the surround stones with Crackle Accents which hopefully you can see better in the picture below. Longing Tilda was also stamped and cut out so that she could be propped up from the window. I also added a tiny heart in Tilda's hand...after all isn't she looking for her Prince Edwin Charming??? lol HINT: when you are using propped up images, it helps with the rounded dimension if you will roll the edges of the image around something like a pencil all the way around. This gives much more depth to the image. Hope that made sense!! I added a bronze organza ribbon horizontal and bow and a floral treatment set on MS punched branches. The middle flower is a Shabby Chic Tulle Rose from Magnolia-licious and the other flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Finally I added 2 old gold leaf pins to each end of the treatment and a couple of gold pearls to soften the corners.

For the inside of the card I used all of the same papers as I mentioned for the front and again machine stitched them. I added smaller silver metal cornerpieces to the same corners as the front and smaller gold pearls to the opposite corners. On the first panel I merely added another bronze organza ribbon bow...and to the second jotting panel a bow and the key to the front heart.

I hope you have enjoyed my little creation and will let me know what you think. Just for some fun I am adding some SWEET STUFF because it may be several days until I am back due to chemo Monday morning...but just know that I will be BAAAAAAACK...said ala Arnold!!!!!
