Mr. Snowman Gift Box

Happy Day to Everyone!!! It is my turn to post over at Wild Orchid Crafts Blog so I would love for you to drop over and become a follower. Each day we have a posting to show you many different ways that we have used the wonderful products from the Wild Orchid Crafts shop. Thank you!!

Today I have made a gift box for a special someone who loves snowmen...and of course will love the gift card I will place inside...lol

The double matting is Bazzill and the DP is from the Fancy Pants Saint Nick collection. For the snowman I used three different sizes of styrofoam balls that I cut in half and covered them with Prisma Glitter. The scarf is lengths of DMC floss and the arms are stems from WOC roses. I have used WOC Self-Adhesive Pearls and Rhinestones for the buttons, eyes, and nose. I made the stovepipe hat with chipboard. The fence is from the miniature section and I have added Snow-Tex and Diamond Dust to the fence as well as the ground. The trees are decorated with more rhinestones and chipboard stars. I have used Carnations, Aster Daisies, Gypsophilia, and tiny silk bows for the floral treatment and a Decorative Metal Corner. 

This view will hopefully show the dimension of the snowman and the fence. I added a stripe grosgrain ribbon around the box and a couple of satin bows.

I have also decorated the inside of the box with a chipboard sentiment and a small kraft pocket with another satin ribbon for a gift card.

For today’s card I inked up the lovely little AppleCyder Jubilee from the Little Cottage Cuties Collection Illustrated by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps.

I used Bazzill for the base and all double matting and the DP is from the Merry & Bright paper pad by Carta Bella. The image was colored with Copics and Promarkers, adding some Prisma Glitter for the steam and Glossy Accents to the cup, plate, and holly berries. I used narrow red satin ribbon for the lefthand treatment topped with a quadruple bow, holly leaves and small red rose. I pretended that this cutie was having hot tea so I made a little dangle teapot using a matching green bead. I finished the card by adding some diecut corners and self-adhesive pearls.

For today’s card, I inked up the darling little IRIS designed by the quintessentially talented Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps for Whimsy Stamps.

The base and all double matting is Bazzill and the DP is from the Fabulous paper pad by Simple Stories. The image was colored with Copics and Promarkers, adding a touch of Prisma Glitter to the wings and accents. The metal corners, pearls, and flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. For some crazy reason, this card would not photograph exactly right.....may have something to do with the fact that I know nothing about photography. IRL the colors do match...hahahhah

Things were marvelous here until I heard the weather report for tonight and tomorrow and that included the word SNOW along with freezing rain so I am not a happy camper.....surely not this early, I say!!!! For today's card I used Bazzill for the double matting and the DP is from the MME Winter Wonderland paper pad. The sweet image I used is Winter Friends by Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps for Whimsy Stamps. She is just so cute along with her little penguin and bunny friends!! She was colored with Copics and Promarkers, adding Diamond Dust for the snow (eeeeek) and tiny pearls for her buttons. The snowflake buttons and ribbon were from my stash and all flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts: Cottage Roses and Hip Rosebuds which I slathered with Matte Accents and dipped into the Diamond Dust. I finished the card with Self-Adhesive Pearls.

Unfortunately, Bev has had to take a little break from crafting over the past few months due to ill health. We are missing her here at Whimsy and want to let her know that we are thinking about her and wishing her a speedy recovery. Even though the Whimsy family is scattered all around the world, we have come together as a circle of friends to show Bev our love and support by each making her a card or project.

Although this hop is for Bev, we do hope you will hop along with us to support our wonderful teammate and friend. If you arrived here from Simonne's Blog, then you are in the right place! For my creation, I decided to ink up the darling little Hazel designed by the incomparable Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps for Whimsy Stamps! I have also used flowers and accoutrements from Wild Orchid Crafts and other things from my stash.

I made a gift bag to hold some of the things which I know are some of Bev's favorites....MARSHMALLOW!!! And Bev, they are on their way to you as you have a peek at my creation!

 

I can share with all of you that Bev Rochester is sincerely one of the beautiful people in the world and is so special to me. From the moment I made my very first card, I wrote to Bev and she always answered my emails and was always willing to help me and give me suggestions and advice. If I had to name one person who has given me the most inspiration in this hobby, I would never hesitate to name Bev Rochester. She has become one of my dearest of friends and I had the pleasure of spending time with her at last year's CHA--an experience I will never forget!!! She is beautiful on the inside and outside and her cardmaking expertise and artistic talents are unsurpassed!!!

This Time I Need YOUR help!!!! PLEASE!! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!

 

To my friends all over the world, this time I am asking for your help in something that is very near and dear to my heart. You all have heard from me that I am co-chairing a Party in Pink Zumbathon this weekend and I am so thankful for all of the support we have received for this event....I promise that pictures will follow after the weekend!!!! In addition I have taken it on as a personal goal to reach as many people as I can all over the world to raise money for the CAUSE and the CURE of Breast Cancer.

 

Many of you followed me through the horrors of breast cancer and I could not have done it alone. You gave me so much support as I went through 3 surgeries and then bouts of chemotherapy and radiation. I made a promise at that time that I would do all within my power to make life a bit easier for my PINK sisters who would have to experience the horrifying words "you have breast cancer". I have personally made contact with each of the people in our crafting world when they found out that they had the disease and shared a bit of PINK Sweet Stuff with them to brighten their day!

 

This disease effects more than 1 in every 8 women all over the world and I am not discounting the number of men that it effects as well. I can only hope and pray that you all never have to hear those words....I KNOW that together we can make a real difference!!

 

You all know that I have sent packages all over the world through my weekly Jacque's Sunday SWEET STUFF, as well as other candies, and cards and crafting supplies when you have requested them. I have never asked for repayment in return in any way. But this time I am asking for your help... that you search within yourselves and see if you can't help in this call for donations for the CAUSE and the CURE of Breast Cancer. You can be assured that 100% of all monies I receive will go to the breast cancer research initiative and to the outreach program for breast cancer. You can check out the events and programs on my facebook page if you wish.

A very happy weekend to everyone! I hope that you all are enjoying each and every moment of it! I spent all day today in a Zumba Instructor certification class and I can tell you that my age is definitely playing a number on my old body this evening!!! But tomorrow is a brand new day!!! Thank heavens!!
