Ribbons and More Ribbons!!!!

Happy Sunday evening to everyone!!! I hope you have had a marvelous weekend and are ready for a splendid week ahead of you!!

From today through March 16 the DT of Really Reasonable Ribbons is sharing what each of us do to organize or store our ribbons! You will find my posting HERE showing how I use the Simply Renee 36" Clip It Up Ribbon Organizer to store alot of my ribbons/laces/trims. I would love for you to come over and let me know what you think. If you go to the RRR blog you will find that you can not only win one of these organizers but there are other organizers for you to win as well. So come on over and share with us your way to organize your ribbons--we would love to hear your ideas!!!

In addition to my posting at the RRR Ramblings I am sharing with you some other ways I have of keeping my ribbons. The majority of my ribbon is on rolls so I have to use some means to handle rolls rather than shorter pieces of ribbon. At either end of my coloring/play station I have a MM cabinet.

As many of you know, I use alot of PTI and SU CS for the double matting on my cards so on this left end cabinet I have both PTI and SU ribbons which match the CS, and of course on the top of the cabinet I have some of the trims I use as well.

On the right hand cabinet I have much of the specialty ribbon and raffia laces. You will also note something that is new to me on the right of the cabinet--the Ribbon Ring which is a ribbon storage system comprised of a metal ring and plastic ribbon tags that replace many traditional ribbon storage products. The Ribbon Ring is a ribbon organizer offering more storage in less space and begs to be displayed in your craft area. I have used it for quite a few 1" grosgrain ribbons cut into 1 yard pieces.

Best Craft Ribbon Organizer is another ribbon storage system that is new to me and one which may be ideal for those of you who buy ribbon in shorter lengths (1-2 yards) or are members of the RRR Ribbon Club. You will see that I have used it for this months ribbon assortment, thereby keeping the entire collection together. It consists of a spooler, dispenser, and storage tray.

And now for the rest of the story...YES, I have an affinity for ribbon and NO, all of my ribbon is NOT in these pictures...there is much more in boxes and bags--under the bed, in closets, in the garage, and totally disorganized!!! And I have found that no matter how much ribbon one has, there is never exactly the right color!!! lolol...thus a reason to buy even more ribbon!!! Do you have that same problem???

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening here and I would love for you to let me know what you think of my RRR posting showing the Clip It Up as well as what you have found here!!! Have a marvelous week and I hope to see you again real soon!!! Big hugs coming your way!!!

You have a beautiful ribbon storage area, Jacque!! And I agree, no matter how much ribbon we have, there is never a matching one :D

I do not have any fancy organisers as of now so I keep my ribbons in shoe boxes :D

Wow! You have a great storage system. I have one thing on the wall for ribbons, but to me it's a pain, and the rest are in drawers and boxes. Seems every ribbon roll is a different size that I have :o) I sure don't have that much ribbon, soooo I just dreaaaammmm!

Rosalee said...

Wow Jacque. That is a lot of Ribbon. Yes I do seem to have the same problem sometimes with not having the right color ribbon. I have this phobia however where I prefer only plain ribbon on my cards. I never use printed ribbon unless its a stitch print or something. Plan to put up a post on my blog about my scraproom if I ever find the time...hopefully it'll be soon. TFS

What a gorgeous craft area you have!! I too have tons of ribbon and limited holders. I find myself swapping out ribbon on my holders for the holidays - much like swapping out winter clothes for summer ones, lol!

I'd love for you to post your whole crafting area!!! I'll bet it's just amazing!

Wee doggies girlfriend your craft space is amzing, no wonder we see so many awesome creations! Your space is so organized, I love it. I really like the ribbon ring, it reminds me of being a little girl and choosing the ribbons for my hair in the morning!

I love ribbon but my collection isn't anywhere near what you have..I currently use a few snap lock containers to sore my ribbon but I can certainly see myself using the ribbon rings.

Thanks for sharing your awesome space with us!

I have all my rolls on a shelf and all the bits and pieces in a big box, and even I know I havesomething, I can jsut never find, what I´m looing for. I often feels, I spend more time on looking for it, than actually use it.
I totally agree a girl can never gt too much ribbons he he he. I´m addicted to it, at least that´s what my husbond claims, and maybe he´s a bit righht here he he he.
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful space with us, it´s bee such a peasure to watch here.

I was already impressed by the quantity of ribbons displayed on your RRR blog post, and now I see you have even more... Do you plan on opening a ribbon shop yourself? Well, at leat that explains why you always have fantastic ribbon on your cards! I don't use ribbon that much because I never have the correct matching one!

Marie-Anne said...

How great to see all those lovely ribbons and their storage. I can defenatly use a good storage system for my ribbons. After I saw the post on the RRR blog about the Ribbon Ring I thought it might suit me, since I mainly buy lengths of ribbon, so I'm thinking about that.

I think I should show my husband your post. :) He thinks I have a lot of crafting goodies and that I've got more than enough, perhaps he understands than that you never can have enough, especially gorgous ribbons and embelishments.

I love Ribbon Rings!!! I have both the large and small tags. Sure can store a lot of ribbon in a small space, the ribbons don't get wrinkled, and I also like they are so pretty hanging by my window - like a rainbow!

Your storage is like something out of a magazine - just beautiful.

Good morning, Jacque! Love your ribbon storage! I have one of the MM wall units, but don't use the ribbon part, it's too easy for the kids to pull out ribbons that I might not want them to play with!! LOL!! I, too, have a ribbon fetish, it goes along with the paper problem and the marker and colored pencil problem and the magazine problem and the... sigh... I just have big problems and I really don't mind it all!!! LOL!!
Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs,
Teri

Oh My I want your cabinet!!!!! LOL what a great storage and you can see what you have! All of my ribbon is in a plastic tub which doesn't work very well as I have to take them all out when I want to find the right one (which for some strange reason is always the one on the bottom of the tub-LOL)

Brook said...

I love how you have your ribbon stored. That cabinet is wonderful! I also have a ribbon addiction. I NEVER have the exact color that I need therefore I MUST shop and get more. I have tubs of ribbon as well, tucked away wherever I can find room. TFS!

Good Morning, Jacque~

WOW! You are one organized woman! I keep my ribbon in 4 different copy paper boxes...pastels in one, brights, lace and sheer, and Christmas or Winter. Then I have 5 dowels up on top of a dresser that hold some ribbon, too. I finally have it organized, and can you believe, I do not have one piece of red or yellow? I don't know how that happened!!!

Great tools you have! I'm sure it helps with your creative process. Your cards are so lovely, and you use the ribbons and other embellishments so beautifully, you need to know where they are...and try to have them handy is even better, yet!

Thank you for sharing!

Hi Jacque, love the way you organised your ribbons. Unfortunately I do not have the space for such beautiful organisers. I have mine (a little bit) sorted out in 4 large DVD storage boxes. I think most of us are more or less addicted to crafting stuff (can be ribbon, stamps, or anything else or in worst cases to everything). Hugs from Holland.

Hi Jacque,
Wow you so have the most lovely working space..well what we can see of it! I love all your neat and tidy ribbons and trims. I think you just might have every single colour available..but bet you still cant find that "right" one!!
I have a ton of ribbon too, but some it stored neatly on the spools and the rest is in a lage box but all neat and sorted by colour. I do have a thing for having things on show though, even my buttons are in little glass jars and sat out to look pretty! will need to get more ribbon storage so i can get that on show too!
Thanks for showing us your craft storage ideas!

I loved your post on RRR. Amazing photos! I think of all the supplies and tools we crafters use finding that perfect organizational solution for ribbon and scraps are the most difficult for us. I love to have my ribbon in full view as I find it inspiring but my limited space is a major issue. I find I waste ribbon if it’s on a rod so that’s out. I loved the look of the clothes pins warped with the shorter bits but it’s such a pain trying to get to what I want so that’s got to go as well. That spooler, dispenser, and storage tray looks interesting. I will be watching this topic closely. I REALLY need to find a solution that works for me.
Blessings Bernie

These are some really great storage ideas. That's the area I really need help in. Right now mine is mostly in a big rubbermaid bucket under my son's bed. The stuff I use a lot is in a smaller container in my craft area. I love the ribbon ring, it's great for small areas like mine. Thanks for sharing your orgainization ideas.
