Peachy Tilda for Midnight Madness 21

Gosh!! A very happy Saturday to each of you and a marvelous weekend too!! I am running away from Sun evening til Tuesday evening so I wanted to wish you a very nice upcoming week also!!

This card is for Midnight Madness 21 which was such a fun sketch to play with. Not only is there an exciting sketch each week but this challenge site has absolutely fabulous prizes each week, each month, and ALL the time. They are the nicest bunch of ladies and if you have not been over to the challenge blog, you may want to just have a peek. For my card I turned the sketch on its side and rather than a ribbon as shown on the sketch I used the tree. Strange, huh?

I used Bazzill for the card base, Coredinations and Prismatics for all matting and that lovely peach paper is by Magnolia and is the Yummy for Your Tummy Collection - Peaches. This paper is so nice and heavy and is already distressed and was alot of fun to work with....sews beautifully!!! You can certainly check out Magnolia-licious because Diana is starting to carry some of this magnificent paper. I also used Peachy Tilda and Peach Branch from the Yummy for your Tummy Collection 2009 and both are available at Magnolia-licious so you better run FAST!! The tree is the Fall/Winter Tree from the Fall Collection 2007 which I don't see at the moment at Diana's; however I am certain that if you contact her she will make every effort to get that one for you.

This little Tilda is one of the cutest images for me....I love the bandana and just because she happens to be picking peaches she could easily be used at all times of the year using greenery, Christmas ornaments, flowers, or whatever in her hand and basket. That is the beauty of these little munchkins -- they are so versatile!! Anyway, I stamped Tilda twice, colored her with Copics, and cut out one image which I propped up on the panel. I also stamped the tree and branch, colored them with Copics and cut them out...Of course I had to put on my Tree Surgeon hat to make this leafless tree into a cute little peach tree!! Finally I added an organza bow and peach charm to the tree trunk and peach colored pearls to some corners that I thought needed softening.

I would like to note that in order to make the peaches a bit FUZZY, I put a few drops of the Colorless Blender solution on a Q-tip and dabbed the peaches after they were colored completely. You can use this technique in many ways. For example, if you are coloring jeans and would like a bit more texture, just sprinkle a few drops of the solution on some old denim and dab the completely colored image and you will get an actual denim texture on the jeans. Old towels also add a very interesting texture. The Colorless Blender solution actually removes a tiny touch of the color in whatever pattern of the fabric you are using for your dabbing...Hope that sidetrack makes some sense...If not, just jot me an email and I will attempt to describe better for you.

For the inside of the card I used the same papers, repeating the squares from the front. On the first panel I added another organza bow made with the Bow-Easy, another enamel peach charm, and peach colored flowers on the corners...yes I really do know that peach blossoms are pink BUT I didn't think that pink would go so well with this card...lol...On the jotting panel, just a few flowers and a bow.

I hope you like my little Peachy Tilda and will leave me a note letting me know what you think of her. I would like to thank each of you sincerely for dropping by to see what we are up to and if ever I can help any of you, please don't hesitate to contact me. Have a splendid weekend and a fun week. Maggie hugs to one and all!!!

Such a darling card, Jacque. And I think it’s pure genius that you used the tree instead of ribbon. Btw…….you’re quite the “tree surgeon”….LOL. Love it! I always enjoy looking (or I should say “staring”) at all of the detail in your designs………you are amazing.

I wanted to let you know that I just visited the Edwin surfer card that you sent to me for my son living in New York. My daughter & I just got back from a visit to NY for the first time & guess what I saw sitting on the counter in my son’s apartment……….you’re fabulous card! Warmed my heart. Thanks again!

Huggies ~
