Summer Tilda with Bowknot - Ain't She Cute?

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I hope that your week was an exceptional one and that you have wonderful plans for your weekend. I also hope that you have accomplished more than I have this week...lol I must still have a touch of the winter doldrums because although it is warm during the day, the nights and mornings are still tooooooo chilly for me!!

I have attempted the sketch over on Stamp With Fun which has a new challenge every Monday. This week's sketch, by guest designer Conny, is quite interesting and fun to work with. I turned the sketch on its side for my card since my image was a vertical rectangle. I am also using the card for Copic Creations, a twice monthly challenge, which for this period is featuring blonde hair.

Here is my take on these two challenges:

This card uses Bazzill CS as the base, and CS from The Paper Company's Meadow Collection for the matting. All the DP is from the Sydney Collection by Making Memories. I have used Summer Tilda With Bowknot from the Shabby Chic Summer Collection 2008 which is available at Magnolia-licious.

Most of the panels for this card were stitched. Tilda was stamped twice (one for the front and one for the inside), colored with Copics, Diamond Stickles placed on her wings, and then cut out.

For the front of the card, the DP panels were adhered in their respective places with Scor-Tape. The nestie panel which has the image was first airbrushed lightly with Copics to show sky and ground before Tilda was added to it. I left the panel in the nestie for the airbrushing so that it would remain with a white frame around it. I then added 4 layer Prima flowers with wedding pearl brads on opposite corners and triple pearl treatment on the other opposite corners. Notice that I intentionally made the centers of the flowers a different size so they would not look so contrived. I finally dangled a FRIENDS charm on a gold cord from the upper flower to give the card some motion.

On the inside of the card the first panel is tied together with a light yellow organza ribbon with a pearl and gold pin through it to be consistent with the pearls and gold from the front. On the other panel the other little Tilda is standing behind the matted nestie jotting place. To finish the inside, very small Kaiser pearls were added to soften all of the corners.

I hope that you will let this little Tilda know what you think of her. She is a fun one to work with because she is kinda short and squatty and fits in smaller places than many other Tildas.

I would like to remind you of the Butterfly Wings challenge and the DT Sketch challenge which are going on through the month of May at Magnolia-licious. Send pics of your cards to ladydian@shaw.ca.Also, Diana has also pointed out the new shipping policy: All orders to Canada and the US for $50 or more receive free shipping; orders of less than $50 to Canada and the US will be charged $2.50. She has also announced the pre-order period for the limited Graduation Collection and she has put together a Bundle which you can find on the Magnolia-licious website.

There are a number of fun activities going on over at the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Site which you may be interested in--raining, mingling, challenges, as well as general questions and answers related to Maggies.

I hope that the rest of your weekend will be a most enjoyable one! Thank you so much for coming by and we hope you will come back and visit us again real soon. Hugs to all!!

Jacque, you did a very good job on this. The pearls added a great contrast, not just the outside, but inside as well. The yellow, blue & green are a perfect combo to make her blonde hair stand out so well. Sooooo Cute!

Awwww she is so sweet. I just love this Tilda. Her braids get me every time. I really like your airbrushing. I have been thinking about getting this system. It really makes a great background. I do not like to sponge so this is perfect for a background. TFS
It is hot and humid here everyday. It is amazing that the mountains make that much of a difference in temperature....
