Let's Celebrate at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge

This week at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge the theme for our Special Monthly Challenge is "Anything Goes". But this month we have added the option of adding ribbons to your creation. You can combine our challenge with any other challenges of your choice and as long as the main image on your creation is a Magnolia stamp you will qualify to be in the draw for the fabulous prize from Simon Says Stamp. And remember NO back linking, new projects/cards only please. The challenge closes next Thursday, February 10. So come on over and join with us!!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, the matting is PTI, and the DP is from the Be Mine Collection by Echo Park. The background panels are machine stitched. I used the darling little Birthday Tilda from Magnolia-licious, stamped her on XPress It Blending Card, colored her with Copics, adding a bit of Star Dust Stickles as well as Spica and Multi-liner for the candles, and placed her on double Nesties. The sentiment is from Friendship Ticket Sentiments to which I added some hot pink rhinestones. The lace I have used for the vertical was hand-crocheted by my grandmother before the 1940's and I know she would be happy to see me using lace that I saved from one of her table cloths. I wove 3/8" Bright Pink Satin ribbon through the lace before adding the three small bows. The floral treatment is made from Wild Orchid Crafts flowers: 25mm Open Roses, 15mm Open Roses, and a 40mm Trellis Rose, all resting on MS punched out rose leaves and branches. I also used a Pearl Heart Pin and 2 clear pins.


For the first panel on the inside I also used a 4 ribbon vertical with 3 bows. For the second/jotting panel I used a white paper doily and used ribbon and bow around the jotting spot to resemble a gift.

Little Pom Pom at Friday Sketchers #140

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you have had a marvelous week and are ready for a splendid weekend. We are supposed to have a gorgeous weekend BUT we are having icy rain at the moment. So maybe I will just keep my eyes closed for a day or so!!! LOL

This week at Friday Sketchers #140 we are being hosted by Tanja of Germany who has given us a delightful sketch. We are also being sponsored by Stempel-Phantasien which is providing a very nice prize for some lucky participant...so come on over and show us your interpretation of Tanja's wonderful sketch!!!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base and for all matting; the DP is from the Tilda Kitchengarden Paper Pad. I used the absolutely darling Pom Pom from Lili of the Valley, stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card, colored her with Copics, adding a bit of Star Dust Stickles and Prisma Glitter, as well as a pearl to her wand. Her panel is resting on a circular doily made with the Marianne Design Double Frame Die Set. For the horizontal I used a pink dotted satin. The doily was decorated with pearls as was the image panel. I used metal decorative corners that I sprayed with a white acrylic. Finally the floral treatment is all by Wild Orchid Crafts: 20mm Open Rose and Aster Daisies resting on MS punched branches. All of the pearls are from WOC also.


The inside is more of the same with a silver heart charm dangling from the bow on the first panel. On the second/jotting panel I used the same design from the front of the card, adding a rose motif centerpiece that I also sprayed white.

CHALLENGE, WINNER, and SWEET STUFF!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope your week is going exceptionally well!!! Except for a little rain(thank heavens no snow and ice) everything here is marvelous!!! I am feeling so wonderfully WELL that I could almost turn a cartwheel if I wasn't afraid of breaking my OLD neck!!!! hahaha!!

Today begins a new challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings, where we were asked to use RED/PINK/WHITE and the challenge is sponsored by the marvelous Wild Orchid Crafts, my very favorite place for all things FLOWER!!!! Thank you so much WOC!!! I hope you will all come over and join in with us for a chance to win a magnificent prize!!!!

For my challenge card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is from the Annalee Collection by Prima--just love the muted, soft colors in this stack. All panels are machine stitched before placing a white paper lace doily on the base. I used that darling little Tilda with Heart Lace from Magnolia-licious, stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics adding a touch of Star Dust Stickles for the lace. The horizontal is made with ribbons/trims from the Really Reasonable Ribbon shop: 7/8" Red Organza topped with 3/4" Pink Satin Pleated Trim and adding a double flat bow of 5/8" Pink Sheer Ruffle Edge Ribbon made with the Bow Easy Tool and dangling a silver heart charm. The floral treatment is from Wild Orchid Crafts: 25mm Wild Rose and 20mm Open Roses resting on MS punched out branches. I also added several Pearl Heart Pins to match the string of hearts Tilda is holding and pearl pins from my stash. The front was finished with more pearls from WOC to soften all corners. Little Tilda is looking up at the heart pins as if to ask, "How did I miss those 3 red hearts for my string??? hahahahahah


The inside of my card uses basically the same materials as the front. On the first panel I used the same ribbon treatment and merely added a tiny White Heart Shaped Bead on the bow. On the second panel I used a larger white paper doily, triple Nesties, another bow with bead, and all around the doily I also used heart beads.

New BLUE SWEET STUFF for my Followers As I promised you, I have made 4 of these desk ensemble baskets and today's SWEET STUFF is the BLUE one...the next one will be a GREEN one and I have another PINK one...so keep on the lookout! The basket is simply decorated with eyelet laces and blue polka dot ribbon and a blue gardenia but is filled with Shabby Chic journal, sticky notes, 8 note cards, 8 enclosure cards, twisted note pad, pen, and rhinestones along with an assortment of blue ribbons and a Tilda Playing Violin! But oh my gosh I forgot the 3 bunches of blue mulberry roses which will be included!!! What do you think of this one???
