Happy Birthday, Baby...WINNERS...NEWS...SWEET STUFF!!

Happy, Happy Day, everyone!!!! I hope you are having a nice week and that things are wonderful in your world!! Or at least getting better for those of you who have had a "SANDY" experience!! My thoughts and prayers are certainly with all of you who are suffering hardships because of the horrible weather situation.

For my card today I used a darling Sylvia Zet image from the New Release at Whimsy Stamps called Birthday Baby Girl...and isn't she just the cutest little darling!!! She was stamped on X-Press It and colored with Copics and Flexmarkers, adding Liquid Pearls for the bubbles, centers of flowers, and cake icing, and a bit of Prisma Glitter to the candle flame. (NOTE: This card was made for the Wild Orchid Crafts blog where there is something new everyday! If you haven't visited there it will be well worth your time!) Most of the embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts web shop. For the horizontal I used 1 " Organza Ribbon tied into a double flat bow. My floral arrangements  are made with Trellis Roses  in both sizes, Hip Rosebuds, Cosmos Daisies, and some Wiry Daisies that will be coming to the WOC shop very soon. For the image panel I used a couple of Decorative Metal Corners. To finish the card I softened the corners with Self-Adhesive Pearls and added a peach heart button from my stash. I hope you like my little creation!!

A Fun Card, Some NEWS, and SWEET STUFF!!!

 

A very happy Wednesday to everyone! Gosh, I know that many of you are so happy that the week is half over! My thoughts have certainly been with those millions of people who have suffered at the wrath of "SANDY" and hope that things can start getting back to normal real soon. We only had horrific winds, rain, and threats of snow. Amazingly, every area just north of me had plenty of snow so I will consider myself very fortunate.

 

My card today is one that was so much fun to make. The base and all double matting is Bazzill and the DP is from Papermania's Home for Christmas paper pad---and I LOVE these DPs!!! I used the darling little Joyful Tilda from the A Christmas Story Collection available at Magnolia-licious. And gosh, there is already another collection on taps at Diana's shop--The NEW Nativity Collection. Tilda was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics and Flexmarkers, adding Stickles to the flowers in her hair and for the lace on her dress, Glossy Accents to the teapot, and silver MS Glitter Pen to the tray. For the horizontal I used organza ribbon tied into a double flat bow and if you look carefully you can also see that I have used one of my newest FAVORITE products from Whimsy Stamps called Lovely Tape. It is so easy to use and is so gorgeous. It is available in different sizes and styles and in both white and ivory. I also used a couple of Vintage Flourishes diecuts (teapot and teacup and saucer) which were designed by Jolanda Bergmans of  Noor! Design. I could not believe how much the teapot resembles the one Tilda is holding!!! I rolled both of the diecuts around a thin pencil before adhering them to give them much more dimension. Although they look very dark in the photo, they are actually a dark olive green to match the matting and DP. To finish the card, I added pearls to soften the outside corners and a couple of little gingerbread boy cookies for the image panel.

 For my card, I used one of the brand NEW darling Whimsy Prints from the Merry Christmas Prints Collection designed by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps. Isn't she just the cutest thing!!!! The base of my card and all double matting is from Bazzill and the DP is from the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday Collection which was a gift from my sweet friend, Suzan!  Thank you so much, Sweetie!!! For the horizontals I used some deep red organza ribbon tied into double flat bows and topped with olive green bells tied on with hemp twine. I added Star Dust Stickles to the snowflakes on the image and the sentiment is from the NEW "Tis the Season Notables 5 designed by the incomparable Ann Vento for Whimsy Stamps and cut out with a Notables 5 Die. I added a touch of Shabby Shutters Distress Markers and tiny red rhinestones to the sentiment and more rhinestones to soften the corners.

For my card I used the absolutely darling little NEW Apple Blossom's Skates by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps. She was stamped on X-Press It and colored with Copics and Flexmarkers, adding Prisma Glitter for the lamp glow and StarDust Stickles to the ice. And can you believe it??? I did not use ribbon or flowers!!! The DP is from the EP Winter Park Collection and the base and double matting are Bazzill. The image is resting on 2 large glitter snowflake ornaments and topped with 2 smaller snowflake ornaments with holly leaves and red rhinestones. I also used the rhinestones to soften all of the corners.

A Red Rose Bouquet for YOU!!

Happy Day, everyone!!! And yipppeeee it's weekend again!!! I have been on a ride through the mountains this week and the colors are absolutely amazing...so soon they will all be in a pile on the ground---not my favorite time of the year!!! But it is postponing the winter...hahah

Today is my turn to post over at the Wild Orchid Crafts Blog and I decided to make a 7" (17 cm) square gift box.

I started with a plain brown heavy box and covered it first with DP. The DP I have used is from the Maja Design Life in the Country Collection. For the top of the box I have used the lovely fretwork die designed by Jolanda Bergmans of Noor! Design. This die can be used in so many ways--I have used it to showcase a bouquet of roses. The rest of the embellishments for the box are all by Wild Orchid Crafts.  The 1" Open Roses resting on MS punched branches are anchored with a double flat bow made with Red Silk Ribbon. To soften all of the corners I have used 3/8" Flat Back Pearls.

On two opposite sides I used some lovely Lace Trimming topped with Flat Back Scalloped Pearls as well as more silk bows. The other two sides are just lace and the scalloped pearls.

On the bottom of the box I used Large Pearl Brads to make the little feet...

Mushrooms and Daisies at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge

A very happy Friday to everyone!!! I hope you have had a magnificent week and are as ready for a great weekend as I am. I have a terrible cold but I try my best not to let that stop me from everything that needs to be done....but as a non-medicine taker, the Nyquil just puts me right to sleep and gives me an out of body feeling. Hey wait!!! That may be a good thing!!! hahahha And hey!!! Another sign of progress....my bathroom may be completed next week along with some new gas logs in my fireplace!!!! Things are looking UP!!!

This week at the Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge our theme is ANYTHING GOES with the option of using fabric on our creations...and yes, ribbon does count as fabric....so I am in this time!!!! I made a very simple card this time using Bazzill for the base and all double matting and DP from the MME Gnome Sweet Gnome collection. The darling image is Tilda with Daisies and Mushrooms from Magnolia-licious. She was colored with Copics and Flexmarkers adding some gold beads for buttons on her overalls and some white dots to the mushrooms in her basket. For the vertical I used some stitched red grosgrain ribbon tied into a double flat bow to dangle a silver mushroom charm and to anchor some sweet little dotted mushrooms like the ones on the DP. The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts: Cosmos Daisies and Carnations sprinkled with a few more dotted red mushrooms. These Fly Agarics mushrooms appear on cards from around the world as a symbol of good luck...this from Wikipedia!!!!
