Traveling Tilda at Just Magnolia

Happy Happy Sunday to Everyone!!! I hope you all are having a splendid weekend! This Fall-like weather and a three day weekend has done wonders for me!! And I am thrilled that I am free until Tuesday!!!

This week at Just Magnolia we are all using the fabulous sketch by the super talented Dawny P and it was admittedly difficult for me because there were so few pieces and layers. But we would love for you to come over and see the DT members sample cards and join with us this week for the chance at a fabulous prize from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie. You can flip and/or rotate the sketch, as long as we can still see the elements of the sketch. Don’t forget that you can combine our challenge with any other challenges of your choice as long as the main image on your creation is a Magnolia stamp. And remember NO back linking, new projects/cards only please. The winner will be chosen by Random Generator next week so to be in the running all you need to do is ensure you have at least one Magnolia image on your card and link your card (not your blog) in Mr Linky and have your card posted by 8pm UK time next Thursday 2nd September. We would love to see you!!!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is all from the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Paper Stack. I used Traveling Tilda and Travelers Luggage from Magnolia-licious although it looks as though neither are available at the moment. If you would like these stamps send an email to Diana and I'm sure she will do her best to get them for you. The Traveling Tilda is from the new Bon Voyage Collection which is filled with so many little darlings. Tilda and the luggage were stamped on Cryogen White and rather than mask I wanted to have more dimension, so Tilda was cut out and propped up on the luggage. Both images were colored with Copics and a touch of Spica. For the two verticals I used brown satin ribbon with copper buckles to repeat the straps on the luggage. I also used a little copper frame for the script Hello and tied it with a leather strap. I finally added a floral treatment of a rose and asters.

For the inside of the card, I repeated the two brown verticals adding flat flowers in browns and pinks. And for the jotting spot a simple flat bow and dangling suitcase charm.

Thank you all so much for dropping by to check on my little Maggie today and I hope you will let me know what you think of my little creation! It is always such a joy to see you stopping by and I hope you will return often. Take care and be safe, and until the next time, BIG MAGGIE HUGS for EVERYONE!!

Out for a Stroll at Friday Sketchers 118

A magnificent Friday to Everyone!!! I hope your week has been an exceptionally nice one! Gosh, I am counting the days off for sure because after today I will be down to just 10 radiation sessions left. AND for the next 2 weeks I will just have 4-day weeks because of Labor Day and the fact that I am burned already!!! I won't know how to act with a 3-day weekend..Yippppeeee!!!!

This week at Friday Sketchers 117 we are honored to be hosted by the magnificently talented and creative Claudia who has designed for us quite a challenging sketch....or at least it was for me!!! I would love for you to come over to try your hand at Claudia's sketch so that we can all see your interpretation. AND this week there is a very nice prize up for grabs which is being offered by Simon Says Stamp.

Rather than a card, this week I made a little card/folder which is very similar to one I received as a gift from the sweet and talented Iris a bit ago. I wanted to place 6 chocolate bars in my folder so all of the dimensions are different from the one I received....of course it almost drove me NUTZ cutting and measuring all of those double mattings and DPs...The dimension of mine is actually 5"X6" and the spine is 1" in case you want to try this one. You can perhaps see Claudia's sketch when you view the folder opened to the outside cover below...lol

For my project I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is Basic Gray Olivia and PTI Dots. All major panels are machine stitched. The images I used are hÄnglar & stÄnglar of the little girl, the carriage, and the kitten and all were colored with Copics and rested on a double Nestie. On the front of the folder I added stickled Wild Orchid Crafts roses on MS and Magnolia die cut branches.

For the inside of the card/folder I used a double Nestie for a jotting spot adding a simple knotted PTI satin ribbon. For the second panel I made a pocket sized to fit the 6 chocolate bars and finished it with another simple knotted piece of satin ribbon. The whole thing is tied together with wider PTI grosgrain ribbon.

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Claudia's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Carole, Claudia, Inge, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening in my world...it is always such a real pleasure to see you!! I hope you will come back often and I just love hearing what you have to say about my creations. Have a beautiful day!! And until tomorrow, BIG HUGS for all of YOU!!

Aloha Tilda at Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge

A very happy Wednesday to everyone!! I hope that your week is going exceptionally well and that you are peeking toward the end of the week!! I am down to only 12 more radiation sessions left and I can hardly wait until they are ALL long gone!! BUT I am thinking that my brain is frying at the same time they are burning my other body parts!!! LOL!! Thank heavens for Lidocaine ointment...but somehow that doesn't work for my brain!!! hahaha

I had completely forgotten to post the card I did for the Aloha Challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon--know that there is still time to participate for a nice prize because it doesn't end until August 31...so hurry!!!! And I am telling you that Bonnie has the most amazing shop filled with the most wonderful ribbons and trims as well as other embellies...Have a look HERE and I'm sure you will be amazed too. Her customer service is so commendable as well!!!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is The Tropics by Reminisce. All background panels were machine stitched. For the ALOHA subject the very first image I thought about was Hawaii Tilda (which I had never used before) and Hawaii Palm to set the scene. Although both of these images are from the Party and Vacation Collection 2008 from Magnolia-licious, it doesn't look as though either of them are available at the moment. Of course there are so many more cute, cute travel images in the new Bon Voyage Collection...we almost have the entire world covered by now!!!! I stamped the scene on Cryogen White and then stamped Tilda twice on the same type of paper. All were colored with Copics. Tilda was cut out twice and each image was propped up for much dimension and depth. To set the scene for Tilda, I added Sand Ultra Fine Flower Soft for the beach and added a sand dollar and sea shell at her hula dancing tootsies. I found the ALOHA puffed up thing in my stash and had to add it to the scene. The front was completed with a horizontal and matching Bow-Easy bow using beautiful Fuchsia Silk ribbon from RRR, adding a palm tree charm to the bow. For the right corner I added a hibiscus flower, using flat flowers from Crafty Feeling and banana leaves. The front was finished with square fuchsia rhinestones. Doesn't she make you want to dance the hula and sit down to a luau??? smiling!!

The same paper was used on the inside of the card and I attempted to use it so that the fuchsia flowers, palm tree, and pineapple would be evident. On the first panel I merely added another silk bow and a silver orchid on a silver cord. For the second panel I added another bow topped with a palm tree button and a flat flower at the botton of the jotting spot....Fuchsia rhinestones were used on all corners of the inside too!

Remember to come on over to the RRR Challenge Blog and show us your ALOHA card...we would love to see it!!!

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening here and I hope you will come back often!! Hey!!! It's almost time for some SWEET STUFF, isn't it??? YES, it is!!! So maybe by this weekend I can have something put together...smile...I hope the rest of your week is a happy one!!! Be safe and big hugs til we meet again!!!!

Home Sweet Home at Just Magnolia and RRR and WINNER!!!!

Gosh!! I hope you are all having a magnificent weekend!!! I intended to have one myself until radiation proved me wrong!!! I ended up quite burned on a very tender body part but this too shall pass...Heck, I have bathed in Aloe since Friday so I am sure Nature will protect me!!! Smiles...I am just hoping that the burns do not delay me at this point and by Monday I am ready to progress....wink wink!!! I am down to 15+ more sessions left and I am past ready for them to be over!!!!

This week at Just Magnolia the Design Team was asked to use a sentiment on our card, which was fun because I rarely use sentiments. I hope you will have a peek at the magnificent cards made by the wonderful design team and will decide that you wish to join with us this week.....so just get your Magnolias ready and add a sentiment and let us see your exciting submissions. This week we are sponsored by Dies to Die For who have provided a very nice prize for one of you!!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base and all matting; the DP is from Melissa Frances' Kitchy Kitchen Paper Pad which were gifts from two of my very special friends for my birthday, Claudia and Suzan..Thank you both so much....these papers are ME and I just LOVE them!!!! They remind me so much of the aprons I saw my grandmother wearing that she had made from flour and sugar sacks...just so reminiscent!! I machine stitched all base panels. I had to use an apron motif on the front of my card based upon my sweet recollections. For the waistband I used a magnificent Lime jute ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, adding pre-gathered eyelet lace and a cute pink and white trim, as well as flat pink flowers. I stamped that darling Kitchen Tilda on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics, then placing her on a double Nestie propped up on dimensional tape. Kitchen Tilda is from Magnolia-licious. Although it appears that she is not available at the moment...please contact Diana and I am sure she will make sure she is available for you. I then added some pre-pleated eyelet and floral trim to the apron's edge, and finished with some soft pink flowers from Natural Accents. To satisfy the sentiment requirement I embossed a Stampavie Home Sweet Home on the apron's edge in Celery Green.

For the inside of my card I used the cute, cute Magnolia Cupcake stamp on the first panel, propping it up on a horizontal of the jute and floral trim. Although it doesn't appear as available at the moment, Diana does have some more cupcake stamps which are so cute and useable as well!! I first colored it with Copics, then added the half-pearls, and finally used Liquid Applique for the dimension of the frosting, finishing with several of the flat flowers also. On the second panel, the jotting panel, I also used a double Nestie and also used a gold metal spoon with more flat flowers.

I hope you like my little creation and will jump over and see the magnificent creations made by my DT Sissies at Just Magnolia. We would love for you to whip out your Maggies and join with us this week!!!

WINNER

Japanese Tilda at Friday Sketchers 116

Happy Friday everyone!!!! I hope you have all had a wonderful week and are ready to settle in for a marvelous weekend of fun! After today I will have finished my 4th week of radiation and that means only 3 more weeks to go!! Yippppeeeee...Let me tell you, going to a radiation session every single day is not as much fun as it should be!! And I am still sleeping most of every day and that is such a horrible existence...Gosh, I want to be playing and doing stuff!!! But the energy is just not there...but in 3 more weeks it will be another story!!! Wooohoooo!!!!

Today is the 116th challenge over at Friday Sketchers and we are being hosted by the very talented Bea of Germany who has given us a splendidly fun sketch this week! Thank you so much, Bea!!! I hope that all of you will pop over to Friday Sketchers and join in with us this week so that you can win a very sweet prize from KLM Digi Stamps. Just use Bea's sketch and show us your interpretation....can't wait to see them!!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting and DP are hand-made papers and Webster's Pages and the background panel is machine stitched. I used that darling Japanese Tilda from Magnolia-licious and she is now available!!! I stamped her on Cryogen White, colored her with Copics and a touch of Diamond Stickles, and cut her out with a deckled oval Nestie. To satisfy the circular formation of the sketch I made a paper umbrella with Webster's Pages, scoring at each scallop with my Handy Dandy Scor-Pal and using 1/8" Scor-Tape to hold it all together. After folding the umbrella, I added thin wooden ribs to every other fold. I also used silicone to attach the umbrella to the base so that much of the dimension could be retained. Finally I added a sentiment to the left side of the umbrella which says "COME ON OVER TO FRIDAY SKETCHERS!!!!" (big smile) and several cherry blossoms.
Below is a side view which shows the umbrella a bit better and gives you an idea of the dimension and how I made the little umbrella.

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Bea's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Carole, Claudia, Inge, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening here...it is always such a joy to see you!! I hope you will come back often and I just love hearing what you have to say about my creations. Have a beautiful day!! And until tomorrow, BIG HUGS for YOU!!

Cowgirl Tilda at Just Magnolia and WINNER!!

Happy Saturday to Everyone!! Gosh, I hope you are as ready as I am to have a wonderful weekend! I am ready to get lots done and stay awake more than a few minutes at a time....lol...Of course as hot as it has been in Southeastern US, staying inside in the A/C has been a real blessing, although I would like to have more AWAKE moments!! My weekends, free of anything radiated, are a real JOY!!!!

This week at Just Magnolia we were treated with a wonderfully fun sketch by the delightfully talented and creative Dawny P. We would love for you to come over and check out the splendid DT Sample Cards this week and join in with us in using Dawny's sketch and your Magnolias! There is a very nice prize this week from Crafty Sentiments so come on over and show us your interpretation of the sketch!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI Kraft and Ocean Tides, and the DP is from the WANTED paper pack by Cosmo Cricket. All panels were machine stitched. Since I was using that darling Cowgirl Tilda from Magnolia-licious, I wanted to distress the card so that it would look as though this little darlin' had been riding fence for days!! Tilda was stamped on Cryogen white and colored with Copics. In order to make her outfit and boots look like suede or nubuck I used a Q-tip moistened with blending solution to touch the areas....how did I do?? She is now available at Diana's shop!! I am NOT a distresser so this card really took its toll on me...lol. To finish the front of the card I added a computer generated sentiment which I printed on Kraft using Abilene font and tied it to the card with jute twine, adding a lucky horse shoe with horse charm to the bow. I finally added silver brads to soften the worn out corners which remind me of saddle ornaments.

And what is a COWGIRL without her horse????

On the first panel of the inside I used Tilda's Horse which is available at Diana's and Old Stand to set the ranch scene. They were both colored with Copics. I added some free-form grass and used jute twine to tie Horsey to the stand. Although the stand is not available right now, Diana does have a number of fences which you could use just as well. I also added another lucky horse shoe charm to the bow. The second panel is just a jotting spot with jute bow. I hope you like my attempt at the Old West!!!

The WINNER of the lavender Maggie/RRR Sweet Stuff is

Sylvia who said:

*eek*... *gasp* ... this is just out of this world.. STUNNING and AMAZING and GORGEOUS and (please insert every superlative you know) .. *wow* I'm in love *sigh* hugs} Sylvia

Fun in the Sun at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop and Friday Sketchers #115 AND A Wee Bit Of SWEET STUFF!!!

Happy Friday, Everyone!!! I hope you have all had a most delightful week and are well prepared for a magnificent weekend!! Gosh after today I will have 3 whole weeks of radiation down so that means maybe only FOUR more weeks!!! Wooooohoooooo!!! Maybe then I can get something accomplished....it is difficult to get anything done since I am sleeping almost 20 hours a day!!! But this will be over very soon and then I can REALLY play!!!!

For my card I used the sketch designed for Friday Sketchers by Aud from Norway who is hosting this week. Aud, thanks so much for making this week such a special one with such a fun and exciting sketch!! The base and all matting of my card is Bazzill and the DP is Marianne Designs Blue Floral and Making Memories Yellow Gingham (Thanks, Suzan!!!) All major panels were machine stitched. The little hÄnglar & stÄnglar girl was stamped on Cryogen White, colored with Copics, and cut out so that she could be propped up on her little beach setting which was made by sponging the sky and using Ultra Fine Flower Soft Sand for the beach. To finish the front I added a gorgeous 7/8" Yellow Gingham from Really Reasonable Ribbon with a bow made with the Bow-Easy tool. I also added a sand shovel and pail as well as a seagull and sun to complete the beach setting.

For the inside of the card I used the same DPs. On the first panel I used another horizontal of the lovely yellow gingham ribbon with bow, adding a soaring seagull. For the second panel, the jotting panel, I also repeated the beach scene, adding a pelican perched on a pier piling, a sea shell and a starfish, all resting on another sandy beach. I hope you like my little creation and will let me know what you think of it!!!

All prize winners will be announced on the Flower Soft Blog and the Impression Obsession Blog on Wednesday, August 18. Good luck to everyone!!

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI Raspberry Fizz and New Leaf, and all DP is Printworks and Best Creation Inc--a gift from the very talented Suzan..Thank you so much, Sweetie!! All background panels are machine stitched. I also used Clowning Around by Belles 'n Whistles to set the scene for my use of Flower Soft and for the wonderful sentiment stamps I selected from Impression Obsession. My image was colored with Copics and the flower in her hand is covered with Raspberry Fizz Ultra Fine Flower Soft. To ground the image I used hand cut grass and additional flat flowers covered with the same Flower Soft and centered with pearls. The sentiment is from the magnificent Mini Messages by Impression Obsession which I placed on double nesties on another flat flower tipped in Flower Soft. To finish the front I added a ribbon and flat bow using PTI Raspberry Fizz dotted ribbon.

The inside is quite simple but I did use another Mini Message and a "LAUGH" charm to complete the cheerfulness of the card!

Be sure to leave your comments as you visit each blog so that you will be in for the prize drawings. Your next stop is a visit to Rosemary Marino at the Impression Obsession Blog. Good Luck and hope to see you again real soon!!

Tilda Plays The Lavender Heart Strings for Friday Sketchers AND Really Reasonable Ribbon AND WINNER AND SWEET STUFF!!

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are having a most magnificent weekend! My weekend is GREAT...I am awake!! Monday through Friday with the radiation I am so sleepy and lethargic, I don't even recognize myself...I don't feel sick or anything...just totally OUT OF IT!!! But beginning on Saturday morning I am almost like my regular self...Gosh, only 5-6 more weeks of this craziness then it's Jacque bar the door!!! LOL

This week at Friday Sketchers we are hosted by the magnificently talented and creative Carole from England who designed a magnificently fun sketch for the Design Team to use for our sample cards and we all hope that you will jump on over and join in with us this week!! There is a very nice prize from Motivet for some lucky winner this week!! Please check out the blogs of the other Sassy Sketcher girls:
Bea, Carole, Claudia, Jeanette, Tanja

Also today is my first posting at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog so I hope you will also wander over there and see what's happening and become a follower so you don't miss any of the fantastic projects that are made each day.

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is Bazzill and silver metallic CS, and the DP is from the Lilac Avenue Collection by Kaisercraft. The major panels are machine stitched. I stamped the darling Tilda With Violin on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics, adding Diamond Stickles to the feather wings and some Spica to the violin. She was grounded with a bit of Ultra Fine Koala Gray Flower Soft. This little sweetie was a special gift to many of us from Diana at Magnolia-licious and although I do not see her in stock, she will perhaps be coming out in a future collection. The horizontals are Sheer Woven Rosettes Lavender and Totally Twill Delphinium. Tilda was propped up on round and scalloped round nesties. Rather than the tag in the sketch, I rolled a piece of sheet music and tied it with Flower Soft 2MM Lilac Silk Ribbon . To finish the front of the card, I added an Iris Organza bow made with a Bow-Easy and trimmed with Pearls Pearl.

For the inside of the card I used pearl accent flourishes and a flat organza bow with pearls on the first panel. For the jotting panel I used another nestie set with a flat flower with pearl and twisted twill. Thanks, Claudia for the wonderful surprise!!

To match the card, I decorated a round papier mache box, painting it first with white platinum pearl acrylic paint. I used the rosette trim around the sides along with the twill ribbon, accenting the lid with pearls. For the top, all decoration is resting on a nestie base, adding lavender wild roses, a few pearl sprigs, a matching pearl-trimmed organza bow, and an organza butterfly. To give a touch of dimension to the wild roses I added a bit of Lilac Flower Soft. Sorry that the colors in the close up side view photos is not really accurate but thought you might want to see anyway...smile

And now for the WINNER of the Magnolia/Pink Tote SWEET STUFF...

Wedding Portrait at Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge, WINNER, and SWEET STUFF!!!

A very Happy Sunday to Everyone!! Gosh it seems like forever since I have been here but this week was not one that I remember very well!! This was my first week of radiation every day and it was a total loss for me. I was asleep by the time I got home each day and I slept 20 hours out of every 24. I am usually such a high energy person and this just threw me for a loop!! But maybe this week will be one of a few more awake hours and I can actually accomplish something...lol

I am thrilled and very humbled that Bonnie over at Really Reasonable Ribbon has asked me to serve on her very talented DT for the next several months. I also used Bride with Tiara-Groom from Magnolia-licious which was colored with Copics, adding a bit of Diamond Stickles to the tiara and Spica to the cane. To complete the wedding portrait I painted a chipboard frame with black matte acrylic and added pearls to the inside and outside of the frame as well as placing Snow Pearls on each corner of the frame and card. To give the frame a bit more dimension I placed it on a popped up MS punch around the page square base. Finally I added a pearl topped bow which is made from luxurious black silk and available at RRR and a sweet bouquet of flowers to the bottom corner. I hope you like my little creation and if you need a wedding card, please send me an email and I will send it to one of you!!
