Think PINK and PINK SWEET STUFF!!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope that you have had a delightful week and are ready for a splendid weekend!!

Today is our new challenge at the Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge and I would love for you to join in with us this week. This is a VERY special challenge for me and we are being hosted by the wonderfully talented Anne for our PINK for BREAST CANCER AWARENESS challenge. Please let our PINK week remind each and every one of you about the importance of being aware of breast cancer and what we can do to catch it early!!! That is definitely the KEY!!!! We can't wait to see you there with your lovely PINK creations!! There are 2 fabulous surprises up for grabs this week!!! We would love for you to have a peek at all of the magnificent DT Sample cards/projects over at the Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge...so please come on over and show us your PINK!!!

I made a 4-part portfolio which you see the front of above and which measures 6" X 12" when closed. This measurement allows it to stand on its own when opened. I apologize for the pics but I could not get the pinks to photograph as it is IRL so just pretend with me.....smiles!! I used some gorgeous WOC Self Adhesive Rhinestone Swirls on two of the corners and some lovely 1" Silver Grey Organza Ribbon to close the portfolio. For the floral treatment I used 1" Wild Roses, 5/8" Open Roses, and Heather resting on MS punched rose leaves and a couple of vintage German stems.

This is a full shot of the portfolio and the measurement is 12" X 24". It is very easy and of course you can decorate it any way you wish. I have made another in the Christmas theme which I will have here next week. I used Bazzill for all double matting and all of the DP is from the Authentique Uncommon Collection. All images are from the 2008 Magnolia Pink Collection from Magnolia-licious which was made especially for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. I started with a piece of white CS which measured 18" X 24" (perhaps you can ask your local printer to cut you this base) and then I scored the long side at 6", 12", 18" and the short side at 6". I then folded the short side up to make the pockets and used Scor-Tape at each of the folds. You can see that I double matted and machine stitched each panel though that is not necessary. And then the fun begins!!!

On the first panel I added a calendar and put Breast Cancer Awareness bracelets and some pink colorway rhinestones in the pocket. For the second panel I used the Pink Tilda With Rose and Pink Stitched Ribbon which were colored in Copics and Promarkers, adding Prisma Glitter to her dress and Glossy Accents to the Rose. For the third panel I used Pink Tilda Ice/Ballet Princess , colored with Copics and Promarkers, adding Prisma Glitter to her clothes. The horizontal is WOC 1/2" Pink Satin Ribbon anchored with 2 grosgrain bows. In the pocket is a pink moleskin mini-notebook on which I have placed a Copic colored Magnolia Pink Strength, Cure, Hope Circle. The fourth panel is just a grosgrain bow with a pink mechanical pencil.

The fifth pocket holds some ribbon stickers and a pink 2012 weekly planner and the sixth panel has the Magnolia Pink Strength, Cure, Hope Text. The seventh panel is the darling little Pink Tilda With Heart sitting on the Pink Bench and another Pink Stitched Ribbon, all colored with Copics adding a touch of Star Dust Stickles. And the last pocket holds some Fight Like A Girl Post-It notes.

I hope you like my little project and will decide to join in with us at the Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge.

PINK SWEET STUFF - As I promised, I am pleased to offer my FOLLOWERS a bit of PINK SWEET STUFF and hope this will remind you all about those very important mammograms and self-checks!!!! I am asking that you PLEASE place this on your personal blog if you have one so that everyone in blogland will also think about the importance of AWARENESS!!!! Please leave your info with the little Blue Froggy before Monday, October 24 at Midnight EST. Good luck!!!!

1 Pink Ribbon Beanie Bear
1 Pink Desk Calculator
4 Bunches of WOC Pink Roses
2 Packs of Rhinestones
3 Pairs of Breast Cancer Sport Socks
1 Pair of Pink Ear Warmers
1 Pack of Pink Rose Tissues
1 Pack of MM Pitterpatter Trims and Treats
1 Pink Bubble Pen

Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you have enjoyed your visit and will come back often!!! It is always such a joy to know that you have been here! May your weekend be a special one and until we meet again, I send great big hugs!!!! THINK PINK!!!!!!

Very sweet candy Jacque! I am more than happy to post this on my blog to remind everyone. Love your portfolio above - can't wait to see the Christmas one :) Hugs!

Oh Jacque, you thought of everything on this! More like a trapper card to keep all kinds of goodies :O) All the pink reminds me of my Mom who had breast cancer and beat it 30 plus years ago. I remember all the things she went through because me and my sister were right there with her. I know it was the Lord and the prayer of so many people that brought her through it. This is truly an awesome project :O) Hugs! Leah Ann

My mum died from this a few years agom, because she was too scared to go and see a doctor in time, so be sure, I´m very aware and get my mamo every single year to be sure, and I can´t recommend that enough to all my friends too.
Have a wonderful week-end hun and lots of fun.

Oh Jacque! What a gorgeous, gorgeous wayt o remind us to be safe! Early detection is the key, a very close friend of our family is going through radiation for breast cancer now... her mammogram wasn't scheduled until December, but she was having tests for someting totally unrelated and the nurse suggested to just do it early and be done... so she did and they found the cancer. Thank God she will be fine... it is scary to think if she had waited...
Anyway, the portfolio is just beautiful, as is everything you touch! Thank you for sharing your creations with all of us and for reminding us how important life is!! I hope everything is going okay for you.... please remember to take time for yourself during all the hubbub you must still be going through!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Hugs,
Teri

Congratulations Miss Survivor You! I am thinking pink right now. While in Florida, we saw a 5K and most people were wearing some kind of fancy bra, mostly pink, outside of their shirts. There were even men walking with no shirts and pink bras on. It was quite an affair. My hat goes off to you and wish you lots and lots of years of good health. Oh - I am forgetting that wonderful card. Great idea Jacque! I will let you know when I copy, case, steal, borrow, or what ever you want to call it. I will most definitely give you all the glory!!

Dear Jacque~

What a beautiful project! I can not imagine how much time it must have taken you to put together. I love the pink! My art room is purple and pink! I love the first page, it reminds me of tea roses...and the paper roses are just beautiful! I love the dp you used through this, and that pretty ribbon across the project as your horizontal line. Your coloring is up to your usual standard--incredible!

Thank you for offering such amazing "Sweet Stuff"--you have such a beautiful, giving heart. I just love the flowers! They are amazing! And, the pink socks, and other goodies are wonderful. I would love to put these items in my art room...fabulous gift-away!

I help others receive free mammograms (if they are financially in need) by visiting the Breast Cancer Site. (I hope your guests will read this.) You just click on http://www.thehungersite.com and click on the pink tab. It is completely free, the advertisers pay a certain amount for each click that people leave! It is wonderful! Anyone can do it, and it takes under 2 seconds. There are other critical organizations there also. I click on all of them daily. You can only click once a day!

Thank you for being who you are Jacque! Gifted, giving, and informative just to name a few qualities!

He IS Able!

Beijos, Luciana.

Jacque, thank you again for your generosity in offering this beautiful gift. It is very important to mammography to detect breast cancer early on, because we know that cures are very large when treated early. We can only do the medical care. Congratulations on the beautiful project! Kisses, Luciana.

Hi Jacque,
I don't have a blog yet but will definitely email all my friends this timely reminder, male and female. Men can get breast cancer, too, albeit seldom. Ironically enough, yesterday I got my remindeer from the hospital that I'm due for my mammogram. I had written to you a year ago that I had waited 7 years to be tested and, luckily, my test was negative.
My testing at that point was due to your inspiration. Thank you, my friend, again.
Peace, Becky Johnson
