A Splashing Good Time at Belles 'n Whistles Challenge, WINNER, and a Wee Bit of Sweet Stuff!!

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to a new week!! As many of you know, I am pre-posting my blog today since I will be at my 5th of the 6 Chemo parties on Monday!! lol So I certainly hope your day is much more fun and exciting than mine!! This too shall pass quickly, and then I will have no excuse for not posting more often...smiles

Today is the Premiere of the Belles 'n Whistles Challenge. I hope you will put this blog in your favorites and visit as often as you can as there are such lovely submissions each day. To show my support for Summer, one of the kindest and genuinely sweetest people I have ever "met", and the most unbelievably talented, sweet, and loving Design Team ever, there was no way that I could not participate, no matter what is on my plate at the moment!! I should have forewarned you to put on your sunglasses when peeking at my card!!! Kathy, one of our newest DT members, is hosting this Challenge and she asked the DT to make their own flowers for their card...whew...that was pushing me to my very limits!! But, thanks so much, Kathy, for the inspiration!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is Best Creation, Inc; all panels are machine stitched. The absolutely darling image I used is Splashing Good Times from Summer's Belles 'n Whistles Shop and designed by the phenomenal Elisabeth Bell. The image was stamped twice on Cryogen White and colored with Copics. I used the second image to cut out the swimming pool so I could prop it up for more dimension. The background was airbrushed and I used a touch of Stickles and Smooch on the image; the water in the pool was coated with Glossy Accents, and a mix of Flower Soft was used to anchor the pool. The flowers are made with the Nellie Snellen punches (a marvelous gift from the magnificently talented Christina, who also happens to be my MENTOR! Thank you so much, Sweetie!!) and centered with rhinestones! My sincere thanks to the quintessentially patient and true artist, Suzan, who instructed me on how to use them! If you have not visited these two very creative ladies then I urge you to visit their blog/SCS Gallery!! They are both real inspirations to me!!!

For the vertical treatment I used a base of a very wide Turquoise grosgrain ribbon and topped it with satin ribbons, adding Bow-Easy double flat bows. To add a touch of whimsy and interest I added a glitter sun button and a pair of flip flop buttons which were originally pink and green so I used Pumpkin Smooch to paint the pink parts of the shoes!!!! To finish the front I added turquoise gems to soften the corners.

On the first panel of the inside of the card, I used horizontal ribbon treatments with MORE DIY flowers and flat bows. I also added that darling flip flop which was a special gift from a dear friend, fellow DT member, and a magnificently talented artist, Rosette...thank you so much, hon, for sending that to me from across a couple of big waters!!!! It arrived pink, so I colored it with Pumpkin smooch, adding a rhinestone and a tiny bit of Pool Smooch to the flower on it. For the jotting panel, I added a couple of flat bows and smaller DIY flowers, as well as the cutest little fish which escaped from the kiddie pool...hahahhahaha...I must have been thinking of my walleye-fishing special friend when I added that fishy!!

I hope you like my little creation and will let me know what you think of it. Please jump over to the Belles 'N Whistles Blog and have a peek at the amazingly lovely DT Sample Cards!!

Tilda Gathering Flowers at Just Magnolia

Happy Saturday to everyone and I hope you are starting a marvelous weekend!! I know my weekend is going well and I intend to enjoy each and every moment of it!!!

This week at Just Magnolia we were treated to a marvelous sketch by the magnificently talented and creative Jane. You can rotate and/or flip the sketch, as long as we can still see the basic sketch on your creation. Don’t forget that you can combine our challenge with any other challenges of your choice as long as the main image on your creation is a Magnolia stamp. If you meet these requirements, you will qualify to be in the draw for the splendid prize from Dies to Die For. And remember NO back linking, new projects/cards only please. Please turn off comment verification if you want the DT to leave you a comment. There are step by step instructions in the side bar at Just Magnolia on how to turn it off and enable moderation.

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is CreMotion's Victorian Romance, Mixed. All panels were machine stitched. Little Tilda with Flower in Her Hair from Magnolia-licious was stamped on Cryogen White twice and colored with Copics. I also added some Glossy Accents and tiny pearls to her shoes. Yet again that little cutie has her shoes on the wrong feet!! This image was in the Easter collection and has eggs in her lap--I changed those eggs to some red flowers!! This is an example of how to use certain holiday images for other times of the year!! What do you think? One of the Tildas was cut out and propped up on dimensional tape, resting on oval Nesties. I used a double grosgrain ribbon vertical, added a flower treatment on MS punches branches, and red rhinestones to finish the front.

For the inside of the card I also used the double ribbon verticals on each panel, adding heart buttons, sewn with jute. For the jotting panel I added a red/blue bow and tiny red flowers to repeat the flowers from the front!

I hope you like my little creation and will want to join us at Just Magnolia this week. I would love for you to come on over and check out the absolutely gorgeous cards by the DT Members featuring the cutest Maggies!!

Thank you so much for dropping by to see me today! I sincerely appreciate your sweet and kind comments as well as your emails and cards with so many wonderful thoughts and wishes!! May your weekend be one of many smiles and much joy!!! Hope to see you again real soon!! Maggie hugs to each of you!!

Fairy Tale Tilda at Friday Sketchers #103

A very happy Friday to everyone!!! I intend to have a marvelous one as well as a great weekend!!!! And I hope for you the same!!! This week has been a splendid one!! And on Monday I will have the fifth chemo of the six so gosh, things are looking UP!!!! I can hardly wait until I can report that I have finally finished my time with the dragon!!!! I can barely remember when I reported to you that I had to enter chemo and now it is almost finished.....yippppeeeeee!!!!

This week at Friday Sketchers #103 we are being hosted by the quintessentially talented and creative Jeanette from Canada who has designed for us an absolutely marvelous sketch!!! Thank you, Jeanette, for the fun and exciting sketch!!!! I hope that you will have a peek at the lovely DT Sample Cards and will decide to join us and show us your interpretation of Jeanette's sketch...Gosh it was fun!!! There is a lovely gift provided by Simon Says Stamp so please come on over!!!

For my card this week I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI and unknown, and every single bit of the DP is from the Fairy Tale Paper Pack from Magnolia-licious...as a matter of fact almost everything on this card is from Diana's shop!!!!! Admittedly, Diana's favorite paper is the pink and green frog paper so let's see if she notices that I used it....smile!! I stamped Fairy Tale Tilda on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics, adding Gold Smooch to the frog's crown, Diamond Stickles and Angel Wings Shimmerz to her wings, and Bubble Gum Stickles to the flowers. It looks as though this cutie is not available at the moment, but I am sure if you contact Diana, she will try to get her for you!!! She rests on oval and oval scalloped Nesties and is propped up with dimensional tape. All panels of the card are machine stitched. The vertical panel is bounded by a border punched with the MS Crown punch, adding crystals to each point. To complete the front, I added flowers from Magnolia-licious resting on MS punches, a crystal crown, a Bow-Easy bow with tails, and the cutest little enamel frog button ever!! The front was finished with additional clear crystals to soften some corners.

For the first panel of the inside of the card, I used a similar bow to the front and attached a pink rhinestone crown dangling from silver cording and topped by a Doodlebug frog. And for the jotting panel, I simply added a knotted ribbon and another Doodlebug frog. To finish the inside I also added clear crystal gems to soften each corner.

I hope you like my little creation and will decide to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Jeanette's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Claudia, Inge, Jacqueline, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Fairy Dust Tilda at Just Magnolia and a Wee Touch of Sweet Stuff!!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you have had a delightful weekend and will have a wonderful week also!! It is dreary and rainy here so I guess that means an inside day to play!!

I wanted to show you my Just Magnolia DT Sample Card for this week and sorry I just couldn't do a posting over the weekend...but today is a new day and things are looking UP UP UP for this week!! This week our challenge is “One for the Girls” – so it's the perfect excuse to get out your Maggies, all your girly papers, ribbons and embellishments and make pretty and girly!! I hope you will join us this week because there is a very nice prize from Crafty Sentiments. Also have a peek at all of the DT Sample Cards...they are absolutely gorgeous and GIRLY!!!!!

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is from Papermania's Blueberry Hill paper pack, which I dearly love!! The background panels are all machine stitched. Little Fairy Dust Tilda from Magnolia-licious was stamped on Cryogen White, colored with Copics and a touch of Diamond Stickles and cut out with Nesties. I added Stickles to the edge of the round nestie, and pink pearls to the scalloped nestie. This little cutie is on order at Diana's shop. All layers of the front are propped up for dimension. Pink pearls were added to soften all corners and then I used pink organza ribbon and roses and rosebuds from Wild Orchid Crafts to make the swag at the top.

For the first panel on the inside of the card I used a simple bow and rosebud treatment and on the second panel I used a die cut for the jotting section, adding a few pink pearl flourishes and another bow with rosebuds. All corners on the inside were also softened with pink pearls.

I hope you like my little creation and will come on over to Just Magnolia and show us your very own GIRLY card!!

And now...for a little surprise for you for being such a faithful follower of my blog and for leaving me such sweet and kind comments on your visits, I would love to offer a wee touch of SWEET STUFF for you. All you have to do is leave a comment before Sunday, May 23, at Noon DST...of course I would love it if you made all of your blogging friends aware also....smile!!

Magical Tilda with Wand at Friday Sketchers #102 and WINNER!!

A very happy Friday to you!! I hope you have had a delightful week and are prepared for an especially wonderful weekend. I know that I am thrilled to see this weekend approach and am looking forward to a splendid upcoming week--this is my week prior to the 5th out of 6 chemotherapies so I am going to have a blast of a week!!!! Wanna join me??

Today is Week 102 at Friday Sketchers and we are being hosted by the extremely talented Tanja of Germany who has presented us with a very challenging and fun sketch. I would love for you to join with us this week and show us your interpretation of Tanja's exciting sketch. You will find a very exciting prize this week from The Stamp Shoppe.

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, SU and PTI for all matting, and all of the DT is from my very favorite Paperblock "Victorian Romance - Pastels" by CreaMotion in the Netherlands and which is no longer available, I am sorry to say. All panels were machine stitched. Magical Tilda with Wand was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics. I also used Stickles on the wand and on the dress accents for sparkle. This Tilda is from Magnolia-licious although she is not available in the store at the moment. I'm sure Diana will try to get her for you if you send her a quick email. Poor little Tilda has not learned how to put her shoes on the right feet yet....lol...Have you noticed that oftentimes??? Too cute!!!! The pink paper doily was used for the circular element. I used a re-embroidered lace for the horizontal and threaded some PTI grosgrain through it, adding a side flat bow to the right side. All of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also added some star pins to the upper floral treatment, adding MS glitter to the larger one. To finish the front I used pale green half-pearls to soften corners.

For the inside, both background panels were machine stitched. The first panel only has a horizontal of the ribbon with flat bow. For the jotting panel I used another pink paper doily and a couple of Nesties for the message. I added another flat bow and rather than use the Magic Wand, I decided for interest and dimension, I would make my own wand based upon the Maggie stamp available at Magnolia-licious. What do you think??

I hope you like my little creation and will visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls and see what magnificent creations they have for you:

Aud, Bea, Carole, Claudia, Inge, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Pirate Edwin brings Birthday Greetings at Just Magnolia

A very happy Saturday to everyone!! I hope that your week was a delightful one and that you are heading to a fun-filled weekend!! Jacque is on the mend and the beautiful day here makes it even more exciting!!! Gosh, I just love seeing all of the flowers and greenery sprouting out!!! And the roses are even starting to bloom!! Yipppeeee!!!

Over at Just Magnolia this week we were asked to use at least 2 Magnolia images on our DT Sample Cards and what fun this was!!! I don't use Edwin very often but this time I decided to use that darling little Pirate Edwin for a special birthday card! The base of the card is Bazzill, all matting is PTI, and all DP is digital. For the front and inside I stamped Edwin 3 times on Cryogen White, colored him with Copics and cut each of them out. Both panels on the front were machine stitched and I airbrushed the sky and clouds for the boat scene. I also stamped the Row Boat twice and colored with Copics, cutting them out also and using dimensional tape on the boat and Edwin. The sails were designed digitally and each was rounded before using silicone for dimension. To complete the front I used a couple of charms to make the boat's wheel and the doubloon for the string treatment, and several buttons for the sword and beach scene made with Sand Ultra-Fine Flowersoft. Gosh...every beach has to have a starfish and seashell!!! The AHOY is a QuicKutz die and the sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie's Pirate Sentiments.

For the inside of the card I used one of the Edwins and perched him on the Barrel and Skull and added a skull and crossbones charm and an anchor charm tied with MS red/white baking twine. Edwin was also propped up with dimensional tape. For the jotting panel I added YoHoHo from the QuicKutz die set and a pirate hat button.

I hope you like my little creation and will let me know what you think of him! Thank you so much for dropping by today and I hope you will gather at least a couple of your darling Maggies and join us at Just Magnolia where you can win a very nice prize this week!!! I hope your weekend is a special one indeed!!! With Big Maggie Hugs until the next time!!!!

Friday Sketchers 101 and Some Sweet Stuff for YOU!!!

Happy Friday Everyone!! I hope that everyone has had a magnificent week and that you are also looking forward to a wonderful weekend!! As you know I had my 4th of 6 chemos on Monday and then the BIG shot on Tuesday so my week has been one of great interest!! hahaha So interesting that I hope I never see another one quite like it!! But, on the upswing, GOSH!!! I am 2/3 finished so thanks for all of the sweet support you have given me...it means the world, believe me!!

So if you arrived at my blog first, please go back to the Friday Sketchers blog to start your party!! For my card, I used some cute MM black/white and yellow/white gingham papers which were a gift from Suzan! Thank you so much Sweetie!! The base of the card is Bazzill and the matting is all PTI. You can see that I machine stitched the background panels and made a frame of gingham and satin ribbon around the outside of the card, placing the ribbons in diagonal slits made in the card base after tieing a soft knot in each ribbon. Both the center square and oval nesties are propped up for dimension. I used that darling little Honey Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling Collection over at Magnolia-licious but it looks as though she is out of stock at the moment. Contact Diana if you would like to have her. I stamped her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics, adding bits of Stickles to the antennae, wings, and tummy! To finish the front of my card, I added a couple of bumble bee buttons and several tiny yellow flowers to soften the corners!

And now for a touch of SWEET STUFF!!! This is my very favorite part!!!!

1 Honeybee Box of Truffles
1 Pack Lindt Bugs and Bees Chocolates

Longing Tilda at Maggie Highlites Sketch Challenge AND Some SWEET STUFF!!!!

Hello everyone!! I am so happy that you could drop by to see me today!! Since it is the first of the month it is time for the Magnolia-licious DT Sketch challenge for the month of May. This time Becca has designed for us quite a challenging (for me) sketch. The sketch and the DT sample cards can be seen over on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. I hope you will join us this month and show us your interpretation of Becca's sketch for a chance to win a stamp of your choice from Magnolia-licious.

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, PTI Smokey Shadow and Summer Sunrise for all matting, and the glittery DP is from MME Home Glitter Book. The background panel was machine stitched. To satisfy the corner requirement I used very ornate silver metal cornerpieces set on Smokey Shadow CS which hopefully evoke the atmosphere of a castle...they look black in the photos but actually they are dark gray. I stamped Castle Window on Cryogen White and colored it with Copics. To add dimension and some Olde World charm I covered the surround stones with Crackle Accents which hopefully you can see better in the picture below. Longing Tilda was also stamped and cut out so that she could be propped up from the window. I also added a tiny heart in Tilda's hand...after all isn't she looking for her Prince Edwin Charming??? lol HINT: when you are using propped up images, it helps with the rounded dimension if you will roll the edges of the image around something like a pencil all the way around. This gives much more depth to the image. Hope that made sense!! I added a bronze organza ribbon horizontal and bow and a floral treatment set on MS punched branches. The middle flower is a Shabby Chic Tulle Rose from Magnolia-licious and the other flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Finally I added 2 old gold leaf pins to each end of the treatment and a couple of gold pearls to soften the corners.

For the inside of the card I used all of the same papers as I mentioned for the front and again machine stitched them. I added smaller silver metal cornerpieces to the same corners as the front and smaller gold pearls to the opposite corners. On the first panel I merely added another bronze organza ribbon bow...and to the second jotting panel a bow and the key to the front heart.

I hope you have enjoyed my little creation and will let me know what you think. Just for some fun I am adding some SWEET STUFF because it may be several days until I am back due to chemo Monday morning...but just know that I will be BAAAAAAACK...said ala Arnold!!!!! Gosh I LOVE doing Sweet Stuff for all of my Followers because each of you brings me so much JOY!!!!!!! First, the two Magnolia stamps from Magnolia-licious which I will include in the Sweet Stuff are the 2 stamps that I used in this card, which are not shown in the picture below:

1 Magnolia Castle Window stamp
1 Magnolia Longing Tilda stamp
1 MS Cornice Edge Punch
1 MS Glitter and Glue Set
2 Fiskars Zing Your Thingz
1 White Petaloo Wild Roses
1 Prima Floral Embellishments
1 Prima Camelot Roses
1 Stampology Greetings set

Please leave me a comment before Saturday, May 8, at Noon DST in order to be eligible...and you know that I would appreciate your spreading the word to all of your Maggie Lover friends. Nothing pleases me more than to bring smiles!!

Tilda with Flowing Hair at Just Magnolia

A wonderful Saturday to each of you and I hope your weekend is quickly becoming a special one!! It has been so beautiful in these NC mountains and a splendid opportunity to get lots of flowers planted and the more than 175 rose bushes all ready for blooming time!! This is my very favorite time of the year!! So wherever you may be, I hope you are enjoying it also!!

This week at Just Magnolia our challenge is a sketch provided by the magnificently talented and creative Bev Rochester. Don’t forget that you can combine our challenge with any other challenges of your choice as long as the main image on your creation is a Magnolia stamp. This week the fabulous prize is provided by Crafts U Love so come on over and join in with us!! We would love to see your take on Bev's fun and challenging sketch.

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, PTI for all matting, and the DPs are from the Paper Doll Collection by Crate Paper. Since many of you have asked, my cards are 6"x6" and rarely do I delineate from that size. The square panels were machine stitched. I used Tilda With Flowing Hair from Magnolia-licious and although I don't see her right now at Diana's store, I'm sure that she will try to order her for you if you contact her. She was colored with Copics with a touch of Stickles added to the flowers in the basket and then cut out and propped up for more dimension. The nesties on which she is resting are also propped up. For the horizontal band I used a Marianne Designs Creatables die from the Netherlands to cut out and emboss the ribbon band before threading it with grosgrain ribbon. To finish the front I used a flower treatment at the bottom and placed it on MS branches, a small bow to tie the card together, and pink pearls to soften the corners. If you look VERY closely you can see that I also added a tiny pink pearl to Tilda's little Mary Jane shoes...smile!!

I hope my little creation will inspire you to come over to Just Magnolia and check out all of the beautiful work done by the DT members. So grab at least one of your Maggies and participate with us this week!

Thank you so much for dropping by today and I hope you will come back often. It is such a joy to read your comments and to see that you have visted me! I am still going through the almost 900 comments on my Blog Anniversary Sweet Stuff to eliminate all duplicates and non-comments so hopefully you will bear with me...I want it to be fair to everyone so hopefully I will have that WINNER posting up by tomorrow!! Have a wonderful day and sending Maggie hugs YOUR way!!!
