Tilda With Umbrella for Friday Sketchers

This is my DT card for Friday Sketchers this week and the challenging and fun sketch was designed by Jacqueline of the Netherlands. I hope you will visit our blog and have a look at all of the other DT members' gorgeous cards. Please join with us this week on this interesting sketch challenge.

The sketch is actually an octagon but I found that my typical cards are too heavy to make into an octagon so I put my octagon within the square, using decorative photo corners to give the appearance of an octagon and making the octagon the REAL base for the card design.

I used Bazzill CS for the base, Prismatics Spring Willow Medium for the matting, and the remainder of the card is all Anna Griffin Sierra Collection paper. The fabric photo corners are also Anna Griffin. I used Tilda With Umbrella from the Fortune Collection 2009.

For the front of the card, the second panel is done with the Floral Fantasy embossing folder. Tilda was colored with Copics and with a touch of Spica highlights. I colored the basket and umbrella again and propped them up on dimensional tape. Since Shimmerz is our sponsor this week, I also added some glimmer to the umbrella with Angel Wings. The "hi" sentiment is from a CB die. I used 3 taupe brads and three-layer primas with wedding pearl brads which I colored with Copics also. The second panel is propped up with dimensional tape, and the Tilda panel is propped up as well. To add some texture and interest to the front I used 6 lacing brads and 3 coordinating colors of DMC floss...I pretended that under the shawl that Tilda was wearing a dirndl and this treatment kinda reminds me of dirndl lacings!!

Notice that I carried the shape theme into the inside of my card. For the first panel of the inside I colored Tilda again with Copics, added a touch of Spica for various trim and Shimmerz for the umbrella. I airbrushed the white octagonal nestie with a light olive and added tiny taupe brads to the corners. For the jotting panel I used a decorative corner punch and the jotting place is octagonal nesties with the same DMC thread in taupe eyelets.

I hope you like this little cutie and will visit the other DT's cards over on Friday Sketchers . Thank you so much for dropping by and I would appreciate any comment that you might wish to make. Please come back again and again--we love and welcome visitors!!

I hope that each of you will have an enjoyable and safe weekend...Hugs to all!!

Jacque, Your card is beautiful and I undertand the addiction part on your profile. I always tell my husband he is a Stamping Widower. We had rain last night, but I am headed to the beach today with my grandchildren. They are a blessing. Catch you next challenge hopefully.
