Praying Angel...a Bit of News...a Touch of SWEET STUFF!!

A very happy and fruitful Wednesday to each of you! I hope your week is going well and at least we are half finished and on our way after today to another of those fun weekends. I wanted to be sure before I share this bit of news BUT the Vitamin D and Calcium levels are improving and I am feeling GREAT!!!! AND I am no longer feeling so ill on the Arimidex so things are looking UP, UP, UP!!!! I'm not ready to take in ironing or wash windows for you yet...LOLOL...but MUCH improvement. It may be a few more weeks before I can leap tall buildings!!! AND I have also been asked by the Hope Women's Cancer Center to document my PINK JOURNEY and I am thrilled to be able to share my 10 month experience with others so that maybe it can help them in some small way.

I wanted to share with you a card I made using a Whiff of Joy stamp and she is Praying Angel from the new Christmas Collection designed by Elisabeth Bell. I used Bazzill for the base and all matting and the DP is Webster's Pages...such delightful papers, don't you think? All panels were machine stitched. She was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics and Spica Buttermilk. I used Angel Wings Shimmerz and Starlight Stickles on her wings. The image was cut out with round and scalloped Nesties and then surrounded by wee eyelet lace. For the vertical I used 7/8" Old Willow Organza from the Really Reasonable Ribbon shop. Bonnie has an unbelievable number of colors and widths in this organza ribbon! It is so delightful to use on a card and ties beautifully! To the bow, I added a sweet little angel charm. For a floral treatment I used several pieces of gold pine branches which are offered by Magnolia/Sweden and some gold and red berries which I found in an antique shop. To finish the front I added gold pearls to soften the corners. You will notice that I ran a bead of Stickles around the matting on the outside and inside panels.

On the left panel of the inside I used another vertical ribbon treatment with angel dangling from gold thread. Behind the bow, if you look closely, you will see that the angel has lost several of her wing feathers...but I think she can still FLY...smiles! On the right panel I decorated the tree with a gold button star on top and small gold pearls all over the tree, also adding stickles to each of the butterflies on the tree. For the sentiment I used Whiff of Joy's Season's Sentiments which I gold embossed before cutting them out with a Fancy Shape. Another organza bow anchors yet more white feathers.

I hope you will let me know what you think of my little creation.

SWEET STUFF!!!! Gosh we all need some SWEET STUFF from time to time especially with the good news I received this week! So here we go...to some lucky commenter, I offer the following SWEET STUFF. I would like to ask that you mention it on your personal blog if you will and of course you know that I love to see that you follow my blog. Thanks to each of you!!! You are indeed special to me! Please place your comment before Sunday, November 7 so we can see to which part of the world this Sweet Stuff will be heading!

Jacque,

So happy to hear that you are getting better and feeling better :) Truly great news indeed. And thank you for offering sweet candy to celebrate! I've posted a pic on my sidebar already and of course I have been a follower for some time now. Your card art always inspires me.

Be safe,

Glad you're feeling so much better, but for sure, I'd leave the windows and ironing for at least six more months!! Your card is spectacular as always - love the use of stickles here.

I am so pleased for you that the levels are rising and that you feel better for it. I know all to well what it is like to have side effects from medication but sometimes you just have to hang on in there especially when they are working for you.
Love the card, perfect for that special person who needs cheering up or support. The image is beautiful and as always decorated perfectly.

Your card is beautiful Jacque, and I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling so much better. I'm sure that by documenting your journey for the Hope Women's Cancer Center, you will be an inspiration to so many others. They could not have found a better person to share their 'pink journey'.
PS - Let me know when you start leaping tall buildings!! :o)

GOOD NEWS JACQUE!!!

Leave the tall buildings and the iron for later... first get better and then strt to experiment with those heavy things!!!

Pink Journey - never knew that had a name like that - hope your story can encourage others - even if it already does... US!!! We may not have suffered what you have gone through, but if you can endure we all (that don't have to go through any pink journeys) sure can!!!

First, I am very happy that you are feeling better. I think it is great to document your journey to encourage others who are experiencing the same difficulty and how you can go through it with courage and grace.
Second, I absolutely love your card. The paper, embellishments and inside and out. Wonderful! I am a follower but I don't have a blog so I don't know if that eliminates me from the candy blog. Either way, I so appreciate the inspiration you blog provides both with crafts and in other areas of life.
God bless you,
Peggy Allen
