Non-Tulip Tilda at Friday Sketchers #106

A happy Sunday to everyone! I hope that your weekend is indeed a special one and hope your upcoming week is delightful as well. I will be having my very LAST chemo tomorrow and I can hardly wait until Monday is in the past! The day to celebrate is getting closer and closer now!! Yippppeeeee!! My card today is quite special since I have used a hand-crocheted butterfly made by one of my fellow chemo patients. She gave me quite a few of these darling critters so I wanted to make her a thank you card showing her how I intended to use them! I hope she likes it!!

Although I am late this week, I wanted to share with you my DT Sample card for Friday Sketchers #106 using the sketch provided by the talented Bea from Germany. Thanks, Bea, for such a fun and challenging sketch! I would love for all of you to come over and join us this week so we can see your interpretation of the sketch as well.

I used Bazzill for the base, PTI and BG for the matting, and the DP is from the Basic Grey Capella paper pad. You will notice that I machine stitched some of the panels and used Swiss Dots CB embossing folder for the other panel. After using the CB folder, I sanded the dots to give them a lighter appearance. Little Tulip Tilda from Magnolia-licious was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics. So that she would match the colors in the DP a little better, I changed her tulip to another kind of flower and added "4 U" on the little tag. I also grounded Tilda with a bit of Copic grass and added Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft for dimension as well as a couple of flowers. All of the flat flowers are from Crafty Feeling. I merely added rhinestone centers to them and a bit of Stickles for sparkle on the tiny roses. For the vertical band I used wide grosgrain ribbon and added a Bow-Easy bow using a narrower ribbon. Finally I added rhinestones to soften the corners and that absolutely lovely hand crocheted butterfly...isn't it too pretty??

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Bea's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Claudia, Inge, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Thank you so much for your visit and I am hoping that you come back often! I appreciate each of you so much and thank you sincerely for the many lovely comments and your cards and emails of support and concern! May your week be a special one!! Big hugs!!
