Although I have been designing for Whimsy Stamps for well over a year, I have been invited to make my first posting on the Whimsy Inspiration Blog today. There are so many quintessentially talented members of the Whimsy design family that I am indeed humbled that I have been invited to participate in this way. For this event I have made a card and matching gift bag using one of the Whimsy Prints from the NEW Love and Friends which were designed by the magnificent Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps and colored by Senior Designer Simonne Clay. Admittedly, I share with you, that to match the DP I selected, I had to color some of the flowers using a pink Copic! The base is Bazzill, the double matting is from PTI, and the DP is from the Carta Bella True Friends paper pad.
On the front of the card, to outline the vertical striped panel, I used some Lovely Tape with some Flat-Backed White Pearl Trim. For the horizontal I used some green ruffled ribbon and some pink dotted ribbon which was tied into a double flat bow to anchor a silver friends charm. The darling image is resting on a beautiful doily diecut (6003/1003) designed by Jolanda Bergmans of Noor! Design. The leaves are also one of Jolanda's diecuts (6003/0001) and are the base for Trellis Rose, Cottage Roses, and Closed Rosebuds. To finish the front I also used Self-Adhesive Pearls to soften the corners.
I also used a double row of Lovely tape around the top of the fabric gift bag topped with more Flat-Backed Pearl Trim . The sentiment on the back of the bag is from the NEW Everyday Sliders 1 Set cut out with the NEW Slider 1 Die which were designed by Raindrop Echo Designs for Whimsy Stamps. The customized Label Stamp 5 on the back of the card is also available at Whimsy Stamps.
