Japanese Tilda at Friday Sketchers 116

Happy Friday everyone!!!! I hope you have all had a wonderful week and are ready to settle in for a marvelous weekend of fun! After today I will have finished my 4th week of radiation and that means only 3 more weeks to go!! Yippppeeeee...Let me tell you, going to a radiation session every single day is not as much fun as it should be!! And I am still sleeping most of every day and that is such a horrible existence...Gosh, I want to be playing and doing stuff!!! But the energy is just not there...but in 3 more weeks it will be another story!!! Wooohoooo!!!!

Today is the 116th challenge over at Friday Sketchers and we are being hosted by the very talented Bea of Germany who has given us a splendidly fun sketch this week! Thank you so much, Bea!!! I hope that all of you will pop over to Friday Sketchers and join in with us this week so that you can win a very sweet prize from KLM Digi Stamps. Just use Bea's sketch and show us your interpretation....can't wait to see them!!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting and DP are hand-made papers and Webster's Pages and the background panel is machine stitched. I used that darling Japanese Tilda from Magnolia-licious and she is now available!!! I stamped her on Cryogen White, colored her with Copics and a touch of Diamond Stickles, and cut her out with a deckled oval Nestie. To satisfy the circular formation of the sketch I made a paper umbrella with Webster's Pages, scoring at each scallop with my Handy Dandy Scor-Pal and using 1/8" Scor-Tape to hold it all together. After folding the umbrella, I added thin wooden ribs to every other fold. I also used silicone to attach the umbrella to the base so that much of the dimension could be retained. Finally I added a sentiment to the left side of the umbrella which says "COME ON OVER TO FRIDAY SKETCHERS!!!!" (big smile) and several cherry blossoms.
Below is a side view which shows the umbrella a bit better and gives you an idea of the dimension and how I made the little umbrella.

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Bea's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Carole, Claudia, Inge, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening here...it is always such a joy to see you!! I hope you will come back often and I just love hearing what you have to say about my creations. Have a beautiful day!! And until tomorrow, BIG HUGS for YOU!!

Another beautiful card, Jacque. LOVE how you have used the parasol. Inspired!!! I popped by a couple of times during the week and noticed you were quiet and I'm so sorry that you are having to go through that horrible radiation therapy but you have broken the back of it now and every week that goes by for the next three will be one week less to endure. Keep up your fabulous spirit and keep up with these fabulous creations! Warmest wishes, Lesley

Beautiful card. I understand about sleeping. I have been this way for 3 years. I have an autoimmune disease and have treatments every eight weeks. They will continue for an indefinite amount of time. I do good for a couple of weeks after treatment, but them sleep all the time. I hate that other have to go through it, but it does encourage me that I'm not alone.
