The NON-Bridesmaid Tilda at Friday Sketchers #111

A very happy Friday to Everyone!! I hope you have all had a magnificent week!! Mine was wonderful! The oncologist called on Wednesday and told me that all of the tests that I went through last week showed NOT a single cell of recurring malignancy after the chemo!!! That was tremendous news...My first reaction was, so now I don't have to go through radiation!!!! WRONG!! I will have to be tattooed and enjoy 7-9 weeks of whole breast radiation soon. I can hardly wait for the glowing to begin...HAHA!! AND...my hair is starting to grow!!! It is already about a 1/2 inch long!!! Hey!!! It's not a ponytail yet but anything is an improvement...I think,......smiles

Today at Friday Sketchers we are being hosted by the marvelously talented and creative Janneke from the Netherlands who has provided us with a fun and challenging sketch. There is also a wonderful prize from Digi Doodle Shop so I hope you will come over and play along with us using Janneke's marvelous sketch!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI Hawaiian Shores and Scarlet Jewel, the DP is all from the Kaisercraft Utopia Collection. All background panels were machine stitched. I also used Bridesmaid Tilda from the Wedding Collection at Magnolia-licious and stamped her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics....adding a bit of Diamond Stickles to her wings, Burgundy Stickles to the flowers, and Diamond Glaze to her little shoes. To ground her I used Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft. You can see that this is certainly not a wedding card, but rather points out the many uses for so many of the Maggie stamps...she could be used for so many occasions and events depending upon the colors you use for her....Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Thank You, and tons of others!! AND she is available now at Diana's shop!! For the vertical I used a wide stitched turquoise grosgrain ribbon. I also used a couple of antiqued brass metal pieces--a cornerpiece and a frame for the required sentiment which was computer generated using Papyrus font. The frame reminded me of a gate ornament so I used Moss Green Leaves from the wonderful Really Reasonable Ribbon shop and Stickled burgundy roses from Wild Orchid Crafts to create the climbing rose floral treatment.

The inside of the card is quite simple, using the the same papers and wide grosgrain ribbon as the front, adding bows in Scarlet Jewel satin ribbon from PTI and turquoise banded organza ribbon.

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Janneke's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Carole, Claudia, Inge, Jacqueline, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening in my world...I appreciate each of you so much...As a matter of fact tomorrow in my posting I will announce the WINNER of my Belles 'n Whistles SWEET STUFF, will tell you who will be receiving my baby girl card, and so that you can celebrate with me at my wonderful news, I will have a bit of SWEET STUFF!!!! So I hope you can join with me again tomorrow!!! Until then, big hugs for you and may your day be a special one indeed!!!

Gr8 news Jacque - happy to hear that. And the hair - SUPER - another inch and you'll have to decide which way you will comb it =0) I am still humble to be allowed to follow your fight and salute you from afar. And to see all the wonderful stuff you make when some people would be unable to create is an inspiration too. This card is as always very cute and well made - thanks for sharing and HAPPY Friday.

Each new day is a gift from God. I praise Him that you have a breast to radiate (I know that sounds weird, but both of my breasts were removed!). Soon, this journey will be a distant memory and you will be a great encouragement for others going through it. You are a remarkable woman - filled with love and blessed with an incredible talent!!! You've blessed us, taught us and encouraged us. Go forth in strength and peace dear one : )
Love and prayers of total restoration ~

Hi Jacque,
Just love your card. Out-of-the-box design is what I like to see. I just wanted to tell you, I am a 3 year breast cancer survivor and the radiation is not all that bad. I had many weeks of radiation and did really well. You will feel a bit tired, however. A positive note: You are almost done with treatment!!

That's Super news Jacque :-) Really Fantastic. Great your hair is growing back too! Everyones prayers are heard. My Mum went through the same and when the tattoed the marks were getting done, I asked for little flowers ...my sense of humour but not the radiographers. Makes easier target practice if they use there mark. I hope that the seven weeks go fast and wish you continued great results. As always your card is absolutely gorgeous. Tilda is so cute! The flowers are like a separate frame and all your colours look beautiful together. The beautiful bows along the vines inside look terrific too! Thankyou for sharing your wonderful talent all the time. Have a Great Week. Bye for now Maria
