Happy Friday to everyone!! I hope your week has been as wonderful as mine has been!! Today is actually my birthday, but really I have been showered with best wishes, loads of crafting surprises (some I am going to have to find out how to use...lol) and beautiful flowers!!! What could be more exciting??? My sincere thanks to each of you for sending me such sweet and kind birthday wishes!! My little Auntie is taking me on an overnighter tonight so best wishes to you for a fabulous start to your weekend! I will be back tomorrow, so it's not like I'm going out of the country....smile!!
This week at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge we are hosted by the very talented Dena who has provided us a really fun theme--JUST COOKIN' which can be interpreted any way you wish on your card or project. There is a fabulous prize this week from All That Scraps...So come on over and play along with us!!!! We would love to see your creations!!
This week I made a card and decorated a matching recipe box. I used Bazzill for the base, PTI for all double matting, and the print DP is from the Mini Deck Garden Variety by Cosmo Cricket and the gingham is Martha Stewart. All background panels are machine stitched. I used the darling little Strawberry Yummy Tilda from Magnolia-licious (which is not in stock at the moment), colored her with Copics, and added Stickles to the lace, and Glossy Accents to her little red boots. She was double matted and placed on a panel from the MS PATP Swirling Lace. The floral treatment, resting on MS branches, is all by Wild Orchid Crafts: Sweetheart Blossoms and Cherry Blossom Stem Flowers. The upper flowers dangle a little double strawberry charm. To finish the front I used a red gingham bow and you will notice that WOC now has a complete line of Gingham Ribbons in 2 widths and so many lovely colors!!! Finally I added some red Self-Adhesive Pearls to soften the corners.
You can see that the inside is very simple since the DP is quite busy. On the first panel I just added a couple of gingham buttons to hold a swag of Divine Twine holding another double strawberry charm and on the second panel, another red gingham bow and a few Pearls.
For the top of the recipe box I used the darling little MINI Strawberry Yummy Tilda colored with Copics and cut out with double Nesties. Then just a little gingham ribbon and flat bow to dangle a single strawberry charm, a single Cherry Blossom, and a few more Pearls. That's it, my friends!!
