Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge-Anything But A Card...AND a WEE BIT OF SWEET STUFF!!!!

Happy Wednesday and welcome to December!!!! Where in the world does time vanish to??? I can't believe that we are now in the throes of the holiday season!!! But I will wander along with the rest of you!! lol

Today is the first day of the new Challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings blog and I hope you will join in with us this time!! The theme this time is to make anything but a card, using ribbon and reminiscent of WINTER!!!

I started with a little clear container of Wilton Christmas Cookie Cutters and removed all of the labels and proceeded to decorate the canister with several kinds of ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon shop. For the body of the canister and the handle I used Christmas Vertical Stripe Satin and a darling red snowflake grosgrain which I think must have been one of the specialty ribbons from the marvelous monthly Ribbon Club! For the front panel I used that sweet Kitchen Tilda from Magnolia-licious , stamped her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics. I also added several gingerbread boy and cookie cutter buttons to her panel...which you can perhaps see clearer on the picture below. On the top of the canister I used several layered Nesties with a Large Poinsettia from Wild Orchid Crafts.

On one side of the canister I added a red whisk and tied it on with Red/White Twisted Rope and on the other side I added a gingerbread boy ornament and tied it on with Bakers Twine Cherry.

Gosh it would be fun if you would come and join us in the challenge. You could win one of 2 gift certificates! For all of the details and inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, come on over to Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings.

SWEET STUFF!!!!!!!........

And since I don't intend on baking Christmas Cookies, I would love to offer you a little touch of SWEET STUFF!!!! You can win this decorated canister, a Christmas Maggie, the rest of the set of Gingerbread ornaments, some Prima Poinsettias, some darling small red poinsettias from Wild Orchid Crafts, some red and green ribbons, and some red and green gems...How's that??? Just leave your comment before Saturday, December 4 at midnight.

Sorry I didn't take a pic of the SWEET STUFF this time BUTTTTTTTTT I am banished to bed rest until next week...Seems that my lungs were compromised by the chemo and radiation and I have picked up a bacterial infection which is causing asthmatic bronchitis and pneumonia.....heck that sounds like a horror story, doesn't it?? hahhaha So I can either follow doctor's orders (bahhhhhhh) or go to hospital...sooooo the funny part of this story is DO NOT USE COPICS IN BED when there is a chance of falling asleep!!!! I now have a lovely set of sheets with the most gorgeous B91-Pale Grayish Blue LARGEEEEEEE spot and one completely empty B91 Copic...hahahahahahah.

Anyway, hope you like my little creation and will come back and visit me again...Take care, breathe clean air, and enjoy the rest of your week. Sending you big Lysol-enriched hugs!!!!!

  109. hi Jacque,
wish you well! Luv the cookiemaker box especially because it has one of my favourite Tilda's on it.

And I guess that many designer started their career with falling asleep in bed with the copics still in their hands. Just tell everyone you designed it especially :-)

  114. Love your take on the little cookie cannister and the ribbons are just beautiful. The gingerbread man is lovely - I can almost smell the gingerbread! So funny that you're still 'altering' stuff when you're asleep. Now that's a crafting addiction for you. But on the serious side, hope you rest up and follow the doc's orders, we all want you well again xxx

To quote something I recently read, "The only reason I have a kitchen is because it came with the house". Sums it up perfectly for me!! Great candy, and thank you for the chance to win it. 119. Hello; I like your newest creation!!
Banned to bed doesn't seem like a nice thing to be, but if it's what's needed you'd better do as the doctor says if it has to do with your LUNGS!! So don't play around and see to it that you get out of bed after the weekend so we can continue seeing your artwork for a long time more, OK!!!

  134. Hi Jacque,

Bummer what radiation/chemo does to the body. I hope you are a "good girl" and follow the doctors orders and stay in bed. Heck, You could just decorate your sheets while you are there...OOPS, you already did that!

Your sweet little candy is fun and would be nice. Thanks for offering us all a chance for it. Get well soon. I am getting a new hip in Jan and not looking forward to the first 3-4 months. But we gotta do what we gotta do, right.

Thanks for sharing such great creations and yourself with us.

    Happy Holiday Hugs, Martha

  135. Such a fabulous seasonal project, and one that would be really suitable for young girls to do as well. Your imagination is amazing Jacque.
    However:
Go to bed, go straight to bed, do NOT pass the craftroom, do NOT pickup the copics and do NOT attempt anything else in bed other than rest and sleep.
Your health is #1 so please follow your Dr's advice and get better soon.
    hugs

Now back into bed and just let me know what I can do to help in the craft room .... no you don't have to be there I will just mooch about and tidy up myself .... what's that I can play along with you when you get up .... yay .... now off to bed with you, snuggle up, no crafting otherwise off to hospital and if that happens no crafting for me.
