hÄnglar & stÄnglar Christmas Challenge!!

Happy Tuesday to everyone!!! Gosh, I hope that you are all having a marvelous beginning to your week!! I had my first radiation session yesterday and other than a bit of burning, I think it will be okay.....yeah, I know, famous last words!!! lol But nothing that we ALL can't handle!!!! One down and either 34 or 39 to go!!! Just a few more weeks of inconvenience!!

I had intended to post my birthday SWEET STUFF today but...last holiday season, several of us received hÄnglar & stÄnglar Christmas stamps for gifts a bit late to use them for holiday cards....

So, my sweet friend Claudia decided to challenge several of us to use them NOW!!! Of course she would try to make it as difficult as possible because she asked that we make a card that is 4 3/4" X 6 3/4", knowing that I was at a complete loss!!!! In additon she gave us the sketch to the left to use...lol...Oh My Goodness, I have NEVER made a card that is not 6"X6" so please let me know how I did!!!!! Eeeeek!!!! Please go visit the blogs of Carole and Claudia and let them know what you think of their magnificent cards....

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base and for all matting; the DP is from the Mistletoe Collection by Memory Box. All background panels were machine stitched. The image was stamped on Cryogen White and cut out so she could be propped up for dimension. The upper arch was made with the George Cricut cart, encircled with a pleated burgundy satin ribbon and touched with a Stempleglede flourish which was a gift from the ultimately talented and creative Christina. The image was colored with Copics. The trim on her cap and the pompon were made using white Liquid Applique. The horizontal is matching burgundy satin ribbon with sidepieces made from the same and tied with natural jute twine, adding a tiny stocking charm to the left side. The bottom ticket sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Odds and Ends Collection. The front was finished with small green half pearls to soften all of the corners.

The inside of my card is very simple....on the first panel I added a Cats Life circular greeting and on the second panel a trouch of Stempleglede fluorishes on the jotting spot.

I hope you like my little creation and will leave me a note telling me what you think. I also hope you will return often...I hope to have my BIRTHDAY SWEET STUFF posted before Saturday so I do hope you will have a peek at that.

Have a wonderful week and ENJOY yourself, whatever you may be doing and wherever you may be!!! Big hugs!!! Until we meet again, may life bring smiles and much happiness to YOU!!!

  2. Hallo jacque,
das ist eine tolle Karte geworden, ich mach nur Karten in der größe, da ich sie sonst nicht verschicken kann wegen hohem Porto.

  3. You did a great job!! I would of struggled with this size of card too as I only do 6x6 ones but I think I would of probably struggled with that arch even more! I don't have a cricut or anything like that so I would of had to cut round something to get the shape lol.
Love the H&S image, I soooo want to get my hands on some of those because I don't have any of their stamps, but they are just so difficult to get!
Hope the rest of your radiation goes well :)

  63. It never ceases to amaze me how upbeat you are about your treatment, Jacque. The radiation sounds very unpleasant and I'm so sorry that you have to endure it on top of everything else. It has to be worth it though and you should take a great deal of pride in how you have coped so far and how you continue to manage these awful medical interventions. You are a stunner!

As, of course, is your card! I much prefer to make square cards too but the sketch is excellent and your rendition of it scores seriously high on the wowometer! Beautiful gathered ribbon treatment, lovely stitches and your little hAnglar is so perfectly coloured! I always make a little paper insert for my cards but I took a leaf from your book in one I made today (which won't get posted for a week) and decorated the inside too. You set the standard to which people like me want to meet. Hugs to you, Lesley
