Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge and more WOC at RRR!

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are moving into a great week. We had a gorgeous weekend except for the hail, rain, tornado warnings, and thunderations on Saturday night. My yard looked like a blizzard had come through after the hailstorm!! lol But then yesterday it was 80 (27C) which was a pleasant visitor!!

Today begins the new challenge over at Wild Orchid Challenges where the theme this time is WINGS, which you can interpret any way you wish!! As always we are sponsored by Wild Orchid Crafts who has one again provided a magnificent prize for the lucky winner!!! Please note that, beginning with this challenge on, all entries must have at least one WOC product on. You can combine our challenge with no more than 2 other challenges and you must link back to the Wild Orchid Challenge blog. NO back linking AND new projects/cards only please.

First, let me apologize for the picture of my project...I tried taking a pic inside, outside, all over the neighborhood, as well as with and without a light tent and I got worse and worse results...I can promise you that in my hand the pinks are all the same shades and the flowers are from the same package...must have something to do with feathers....eeeeeeek!!! But I made a little metal chair into a "wing back frou-frou rose chair" to be used as a table centerpiece. I really like the finished THING but I hate the pictures of it!!!! hahah For the base I used a sweet little pink gingham DP by MM which was a gift from Sweet Suzan...thanks so much, sweetie!!! I used pink feathers to make the wing back (lol), a pink pleated grosgrain ribbon for the skirt, added some pink organza ribbon bows, a bit of tulle, before adding all of the roses from Wild Orchid Crafts: 25mm Wild Roses, 15mm Open Roses, 10mm Open Roses.

The pictures of the back of the chair are a bit closer to real life...lol...you can see that at the very top of the chair I also added a pink feathered and glittered hummingbird.

Now onto a happier note--or at least happier pictures!!!!....I also made a Memento Shadowbox for the wedding themed week at RRR Ramblings which can be used to place all of the special little things in it for safekeeping and display...garter, invitations, favors, etc. I borrowed this invitation from my local engraver for photo purposes and NO, I do not know these particular Smiths and Joneses!!! lolol...The fabric covered box was decorated on the top with 40mm Trellis Roses, 35mm Trellis Roses, and 25mm Open Roses along with some satin leaves, and a few baubles from my stash.

On the inside of the box which is lined with a cream satin, I have used cream pleated satin trim with 10mm Open Roses in each of the corners. On the back of the box are black satin hangers which allows hanging it in either direction.

I hope you like my little creations and will decide to join in with us this week at the Wild Orchid Challenge to show us how you interpret WINGS!!!!

Thank you all so much for dropping by--it is always such a joy to see you here! I will be back a bit later today or early tomorrow with a WINNER for the SWEET STUFF which ended last night. Have a beautiful day!!! Hugs for each of you!!!

Your little chair is so precious! I love the wings and the little hummingbird on top. The little frill around the seat reminds me of a little boudoir seat my aunt use to have. Love it!

What a precious little chair! I love it! It would be wonderful to use as an easel...set a card on it when photographing!

I love your wedding shadow box! We received a beautiful one my sister made for us when we were married. It hangs in our dining room to always remind us of our promises. Yours is very lovely, elegant. How wonderful!

Wow! I have been away (and have been scheduling the posts on my own blog) and unable to drop by for a while. What a lot of absolutely stunning creations I missed while I was absent. You have been busy and oh so creative. Every one of your recent makes is gorgeous! Your colourwork is stunning and your layouts and embellishments; perfect. Loved them all! And although I'm trying to limit my commentary in order to catch up with all of my "friends", I had to stop right here. Your wedding memento is lovely and I'm sure it will be treasured forever and as for your feathered chair - it's out of this world glorious! Hugs, Lesley
