A very Happy Monday to everyone!! Gosh, it seems forever since I have posted so today's card was kinda fun to play with! I hope that you all have been well and are into a marvelous New Year. Since Thanksgiving I have had 2 bouts of the tummy virus, a round of bronchitis/cold, and a while with two bad knees...However, I am hoping that I am completely on the mend! I hope that your health has certainly been much better.
Today is the first day of this Wild Orchid Challenge and interestingly the theme is a photo inspiration challenge using this picture....
As always, there is a lovely prize from the Wild Orchid Crafts shop and we are asking that you please review all of the rules for the challenge.
My card today is a special one as I made it for a sweet Zumba friend, Robin Bolt, who has just been diagnosed with Stage 2B Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Since the cancer has also spread into the lymph system, this will not be an easy one to control. She is scheduled to begin the first of the 18 weeks of chemo tomorrow (Tuesday), please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and if you could, please think about sending her a card or leave her an encouraging note on her FB page to brighten her day since she begins a long journey of chemotherapy tomorrow. There, but for the very grace of God, go I!! I can only hope that none of you will hear those most horrible of words!!! Her address is
183 Kelly Lane
Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 USA
Thank you so very much!!! You all know how near and dear this is to my heart, so please step in and help make Robin's day a special one!!! I was a fortunate one, so far, and can only be there when my PINK sisters need me---and I have tried to be right there!!!
I used Bazzill for the base and all double matting and the DP is from MME The Sweetest Thing and PTI dots. The sweet image Posey is by the amazing Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps for Whimsy Stamps. She was colored with Copics and Promarkers, adding a touch of Prisma Glitter. The sentiment is from the Everyday Button Sentiments set cut out with the Button Die. For the horizontal I used pink organza ribbon tied into a double flat bow topped with gold cording. All of the remaining embellies are from the Wild Orchid Crafts shop: Trellis Rose, Cherry Blossoms, Hip Rosebuds, Flat Back Pearls, Self-Adhesive Pearls, and Decorative Metal Corners.
I have TWO extra little Posey stamps and they are looking for new homes. If you would like to be in for the draw, just leave a comment and Mr Random.org will make his selections on Thursday of this week. Good Luck!!
Thank you so much for coming by today...it is always a real joy to know that you have visited!! Have a great week and I hope to see you again real soon!! Hugs!!
