White Plus One at Wild Orchid Challenge and SWEET STUFF!!!!
Happy Monday, everyone!!! I hope that you have all had a most delightful weekend and are ready for a magnificent week! I am posting this while I am away for the weekend, so will keep my fingers crossed that all goes according to plan!
Today is the next challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge where the theme is to use WHITE and ONE OTHER COLOR. Gosh!!! What a challenge!!! I selected green and white since I rarely use alot of green on a card and I made an easel card and matching gift box. We hope you will come over and join in with us and you can be assured that there will be a lovely prize from Wild Orchid Crafts, as always, for some lucky participant!
For my project I used Bazzill for all double matting, the DP is from Maja Designs, and all background panels are machine stitched. The darling image is from the latest release at Stampavie and is SOFIA WISHES. The sentiment is also from the new release and is from the DREAM SENTIMENT SET.
For the vertical I used White Guipure Lace topped with a few lacy heart buttons from my stash, Self Adhesive Pearls, and a double flat bow made with luxurious White Silk Ribbon. The floral treatment is all by WOC: 1" Tea Rose, 3/4" Open Rose, and Hip Rosebuds resting on Mulberry Paper Rose Leaves. I also added a tiny Pearl Heart Bead. For the jotting panel I used a Decorative Metal Corner which I sprayed with white acrylic paint and topped with pearls.
Since many of you have asked to see how I make the gift boxes I will try to show more pics. They are usually just a box I have found somewhere and then decorated with the same materials as the card. For this box I first painted it with acrylic paint then I encircled the box with the same Guipure lace, adding more pearls to the centers of the motifs. For the floral treatment I used the same materials as the card with the addition of a 1 3/8" Trellis Rose, all resting on a Paper Doily and White Pearl Sprays. I used some pearl trim from my stash for the box top and finally added a lovely heart from Mixed Heart Charm Collection as the box opener.
For the inside I used complementary Maja DP, made a small bouquet for the lid, and used some dainty pre-gathered lace.
For the bottom of the box I used some Large Pearl Brads as little feet. These boxes are a little bit time consuming but I think make a kinda nice presentation for a little gift to go along with a card. What do you think??
