SWEET STUFF and Tilda Picks Flowers at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you have all had a delightful week and are ready for a fun and exciting weekend!

This week at the Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge we are being hosted by the super talented and inspirational Jacqui of Cat's Whiskers who has given us the fun theme of FRIENDS! So I hope you will come on over to the challenge and have a peek at the lovely cards this week and decide to play along with us. There are two very nice prizes this week--one is from Crafts U Love and the other is from The Ribbon Girl. Both of the prizes are fabulous this week!!!!

For my DT Sample card I used Bazzill for the base and all double matting. The DP is from the Lilac Mist Paper Stack by Wild Rose Studio and all background panels are machine stitched. I used little Tilda Holding Egg Basket which is available over at Magnolia-licious. I changed her eggs to purple flowers...lol...She was colored with Copics, adding some Stickles to her hairbow and to the lace on her dress and cutting her out with triple Nesties. I haven't usually colored her shoes to match her dress....but my wonderful friend Gunilla in Sweden told me that she was amazed that Americans usually color Tilda's shoes in browns and grays because the little girls in Sweden want their shoes to match their dresses!!! So these purple boots are for Gunilla!!! Smiles!!! For the horizontal I used a gorgeous Guipure Lace from Wild Orchid Crafts along with some organza and a satin ribbon bow to anchor a gold heart charm. For the base of the left side floral treatment I used a sweet Paper Doily which I folded for more dimension. The lovely flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts : 40mm Trellis Rose, 35mm Trellis Rose, 25mm Wild Rose, Hip Rosebuds, and Aster Daisies. You can see that I added another Aster Daisy to Tilda's little basket. To finish the front I used some WOC Self-Adhesive Pearls and a couple of lavender organza butterflies.


The first panel on the inside repeats the design from the front using more of the WOC Guipure Lace. I also used a Magnolia You Are My Best Friend which I cut out, embossed, and chalk stenciled with a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner adding a couple of Pearls. For the jotting panel I used another Doily, triple Nesties, and a tiny lavender satin bow.

The Cutest Karate Kid by LOTV!!!!

Happy Wednesday to everyone!! I hope you are having a splendid week and this is the very HUMP DAY--- so good, bad, or indifferent, we are halfway to the weekend already!!! It has been so warm here that outside work is early in the mornings...but I am not complaining!! I like it much better than ice and snow!!!

I would like to share with you a card that is perhaps one of the most difficult I have ever made although for many of you, you will think that it is easy as can be!!!! It is always so very difficult for me to make masculine cards but I had in my mind that I wanted this card to be very simple...so we will see what you think of it. The base and all matting is Bazzill and the DP is all from the MME Lime Twist-Fly A Kite Collection. Gosh such bright and vivid colors are so fun!!! All of the background panels are machine stitched. The cute, cute, cute image I used is LOTV Karate Kid from the Latest Collection of One for the Boys!!! This cutie was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics. This little green belt darlin' was emphasized in the Karate Belt tie with a horizontal of emerald green satin. For additional embellishments I used a couple of star buttons and the sentiment is computer generated with Chinese Takeaway font and placed on double Concentric Stars Nesties. The image was cut with Square Nesties and turned on its end. And SHUCKS in the picture his face looks smudged and dirty but I can't see it at all in real life...lol...Cameras and computers drive me NUTZ!!!!!


The first panel on the inside sports a Okinawan-Japanese kanji symbol for something--it's either FRIEND or the symbol for kanji...but I liked the looks of the symbol so I used it!!!..lol... It was cut out with triple Nesties, adding a bit of emerald green satin ribbon behind it. For the second panel I used a larger Nestie star for the jotting panel with the remainder of the sentiment and adding a flat tied green satin knot and another gold star.

Tilda in the Garden and WINNERS!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!! I hope your week is going exceptionally well. It has been such lovely weather here that being inside is not at the top of my agenda. But of course today and tomorrow may be TOO hot to do very much outside! Is the weather crazy these days or is it just me??? Gosh, 88 degrees F (31C) is not our typical SPRING!!!!!

My card today is posted over on the Wild Orchid Crafts Blog and if you don't have that site in your favorites you are missing out on some really amazing inspiration using all of the products available at Wild Orchid Crafts Shop as well as all of the SNEAK PEEKS of lovelies on the way!!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base and all matting and the DP is from the Summer Breeze Paper Pad by First Edition...I just love all of the glittery papers!!! All background panels were machine stitched. I used the darling little Tilda in the Garden from the You Are So Special Collection which is now available over at Magnolia-licious. I just love that bubble outfit she is wearing and those shoes on the wrong feet just tickle me!!!!! I stamped her on Cryogen White, colored her with Copics adding a touch of Star Dust Stickles, and cut her out with triple Nesties. For the base of the flowers I used Magnolia Doohickey Swirl diecuts. The floral arrangement is ALL by Wild Orchid Crafts in the yummiest shades of browns and peaches: 40mm Trellis Rose, 25mm Open Roses, 20mm Open Roses, 15mm Open Roses, and Aster Daisies. The Heart Shaped Pins, Peach Self-Adhesive Pearls, and lovely Guipure Lace are also from WOC.


On the first inside panel you can get a better glance at the lovely Guipure Lace which I also used on the front of the card. In addition I used a bit of satin ribbon, a bit of swirl, and a couple of heart pins. The second panel is very simple with enough room for a sweet note to someone special!!

I hope you like my little Peach and Brown creation and will let me know what you think of her!!

Wild Orchid Challenge-Embossing and Layers!!

A very Happy Monday to everyone!!! Gosh I hope your weekend was as perfect as mine--lovely weather, alot accomplished, and loads of fun along the way!!! I hope you also have a marvelous week!! I know I intend to!!

Today is a new challenge over at Wild Orchid Challenge and for this fortnight (two weeks) the challenge is for embossing and at least 3 layers on your cards!!! What a fun challenge!!! And there is a magnificent prize being offered as usual by Wild Orchid Crafts and I just know you don't want to miss out on the wonderful chance!!! For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base and all double matting and all background panels are machine stitched. The DP is from The Paper Studio's Mirabelle paper kit. I just love the multi-colored Toile de Jouy paper!! The darling image I used is LOTV Fairies-Bouquet which I stamped on XPress It Blending Card and colored with Copics, adding MS Florentine Gold glitter to her crown, Prisma Glitter to her wings, and Stickles and Liquid Pearls to the bouquet. She was cut out with triple Nesties and the image panel was dry embossed with the Nesties. For the vertical I used LOTV Clear Additions-Vintage Backgrounds heat embossed with Adirondack Cranberry EP onto a faint gingham check from the DP collection. For the right corners I used Gold Filigree Corners and embellished them with Self-Adhesive Pearls. I also added the same pearls to soften other corners and to give some definition to the left side of the card. For the horizontal I used an olive organza ribbon with a Webster's Pages Sparkler added to the bow. All of the floral treatment is from Wild Orchid Crafts: 35mm Trellis Rose , Cherry Blossom Stem Flowers, Aster Daisies, 15mm Open Roses.



For the first panel on the inside I used more of the heat embossed gingham paper and more olive organza ribbon and bows for the horizontal. I also heat embossed the lovely LOTV sentiment from the LOTV Set 10 - A5 Verses. For the second panel I used a pre-cut floral escutcheon shape topped by dry embossed triple round Nesties for the jotting spot. For a touch of dimension I also added additional Self-Adhesive Pearls as well as another organza bow.

Whimsy Birthday Cake Mouse and SWEET STUFF!!!!

A very happy Saturday to each of you!! I hope you had a great week and are now enjoying your weekend! We are going to have some VERY warm days for the next several and that sounds like great play outside days to me! Almost all of my 180+ rose bushes are blooming and that makes the winter we had all worthwhile!

I made this card for the Whimsy Blog Hop which started on Wednesday and with all the Blogger problems and being out of town I didn't get it on my blog on Wednesday....BUT the Hop, to introduce all of the New May Releases, is running through Wednesday, May 25 so you still have time to hop along and be in the draw for some very nice prizes!!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base and all matting and the DP is from Let's Party glitter paper pad by Best Creation Inc. The cute image I used is Meljen's Designs BIRTHDAY CAKE MOUSE from the Whimsy May Release. It was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics. I then used Stickles for the flames and candle sparkle, the plate was covered with Glossy Accents, the whipped cream at the bottom of the cake is Liquid Applique, the filling is Pearl Pen, and the frosting is Liquid Pearls. The image was cut out with square and scalloped square Nesties. For the horizontal I used a triple ribbon treatment by topping some chartreuse sparkle satin with some thin hot pink satin, including a fluffy bow made with the same pink ribbon. The front was finished with Recollection gems, adding some tiny squares to the corners of the image panel.



These papers are so sparkly that I wanted to keep the inside very simple as well. I hope you can see all of the glitter on both panels. I used more gems on the jotting panel and the birthday definition sentiment is from the CELEBRATION PENNANTS SENTIMENTS collection.

Whimsy SWEET STUFF to celebrate the New May Release!!!

Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope that you are all having a wonderful week and are safe!! I had a magnificent trip to St. Louis although there was a share of cancelled flights, etc. so I am hoping that Mr Blogger is finally agreeable and will allow me to make this posting. I was unable to use Blogger at all last week and was sooooo aggravated as I am sure most of you were also!!!

I was indeed honored and humbled that Denise at Whimsy Stamps invited me to give a sneaky peek of the New May Rubber Release at her shop and to participate in the marvelous BLOG HOP yesterday!!! However I was unable to participate because of Mr Blogger Man but I wanted to show you what I had prepared for Tuesday anyway. The Blog Hop started yesterday and gosh, there are so many wonderful prizes that I'm sure you don't want to miss it!!!! The Blog Hop lasts until Wednesday, May 25, so there's still plenty of time for you to check out the wonderful cards and fabulous prizes along the way!

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base and for all matting and the background panels are machine stitched on the outside and the inside. The DP is from the Let's Party Glitter Paper Pad by Best Creation. I used the darling little BIRTHDAY CUP MOUSE from the Whimsy Meljens Design Collection and is he having a blast or not??? He was stamped on Cryogen White, colored with Copics, adding a touch of Orange and Star Dust Stickles for the candle flames and Glossy Accents to accentuate the little cup. I added a little fluff ball to his hat and star buttons to some of the corners. For the sentiment I used the Film Strip Die which is new in this May Release with the You Are a Star from the FILM STRIP SENTIMENTS.



On the inside I used the same DP and it is quite simple...but the glittery paper kinda stands on its own. On the jotting panel I used several CELEBRATION PENNANT sentiments from this release and cut them out with the BANNER PENNANTS DIE SET.

Lace, Lace, and More Lace at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge

Happy Friday to each of you!! I hope you are finishing up a wonderful week and are looking forward to a marvelous weekend!! I will be going to St. Louis for a few days for a little R&R and to take a family friend to see the Cardinals and Phillies baseball game as a part of his Happy 90th Year Birthday present!!! So I will report to you when I get back!!! I have pre-scheduled some postings so let's all keep our fingers crossed that Mr Blogger Man is back with us!!!

In spite of all of the Blogger problems...arghhhhhh!!!...today is a new challenge over at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge where we are hosted by Claudia who has selected the theme Make it Lacy so we would like to see LACE featured somewhere on your project – either real or faux/punched/die cut/ paper etc. Doesn't that sound like fun?!? The image I have used is that darling little Tilda with Lace Jeans from the Butterfly Dreams Collection at Magnolia-licious. She was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics, adding a touch of Stickles to the lace and hairbow and Liquid Pearls to the buttons. She was cut out with double Nesties and encircled with some sweet lace which was a special gift from the very talented Suzan--thank you so very much, Sweetie!! The midground panel was also encircled with the same lace. For the horizontal I used an organza ribbon tied into a double bow to dangle a silver heart charm from silver cording. The floral treatment is all from Wild Orchid Crafts: 30mm Wild Roses and Hip Rosebuds. To finish the front I used WOC Self-Adhesive Pearls to all corners.



The inside is quite simple. On the first panel I used the same lace from the front with another organza bow and on the second panel a triple Nestie and even more lace! Hey, the theme was MAKE IT LACY so I tried!!!! hahahaha

Happy Dad's Day!!!

Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful week and oh my goodness, this week is disappearing quickly! I don't know if that's good or bad BUT not very much we can do about it!! haha

This is a just because I wanted to make a card day!!! Oh what fun!!! The stamps in the latest release over at LOTV are perfect for all the men in your life! They're great for every occasion including Father's Day so you won't be stuck for inspiration anymore when faced with those oh so difficult cards to make for boys!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base and PTI for all double matting. The DP is from the BG Life of the Party Paper Pad and all background panels are machine stitched. I used the darling little Dad's The Word stamped on XPress It Blending Card and colored with Copics. Is he not the cutest little bear you have ever seen?!?!? For the left vertical I used some red star buttons threaded and tied with red/white baker's twine. And for the right vertical I used a corrugated kraft strip topped with stitched red grosgrain ribbon for a belt effect with the little nickel buckle. I also replicated the tools from the image with a several buttons.



The inside is more DP from the same paper pad. On the first panel I used a kraft envelope with blue star buttons and more baker's twine which will hold a gift card to one of those home improvement stores...cute huh? And on the second panel I used two verticals of the red stitched ribbon and added the Happy Father's Day sentiment from the Set 8 - Happy Circular Sentiments from LOTV for the jotting spot.

A Garden of Wishes at Wild Orchid Challenge

Gosh, it's Monday already so I hope you have a delightful one and a splendid week! I also hope you enjoyed your weekend especially. I think beautiful weather has finally arrived in my part of the world and I am so darn happy about it!! So many of my roses are blooming and the world around me is WONDERFUL!!!

Today is the next challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge and for these two weeks we are using a magnificent sketch by the absolutely inimitable and inspirational Bev of All the Things I Love...she also asked that we have Mom or Mum in mind with our card! (I have my magnificent 81 year old Mom in mind all the time---she is in a Life Care Center after suffering a massive stroke 4 years ago which left her in a wheel chair and without any verbal abilities...sigh....But she is still my most marvelous inspiration!!!!) And of course there is a fabulous prize this time, as always, from Wild Orchid Crafts which you have to see to believe!!!! We would love for you to come on over and join in with us!! I made an easel card and matching gift box for my sample this fortnight. I used Bazzill for the base and for all double matting. The DP is from the Tilda Angel Love Paper Stack and all background panels are machine stitched. The image I used is the lovely LOTV Garden of Wishes which I colored with Copics and added a bit of sparkle with Prisma Glitter. All of the embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the most wonderful shop in the world for beautiful products and exceptional customer service!!!! I used a beautiful White Guipure Lace and you can see that in each of the openings in the lace I have added Self-Adhesive Pearls. For the floral treatments I used 25mm Wild Roses, 20mm Open Roses, and 15mm Open Roses along with Heart Shaped Pins from the Wheel. For the horizontals I used a 25mm Silver/Grey Organza Ribbon tied into double flat bows. The final touch was made with additional Pearls in two sizes to soften all of the corners.



This view will perhaps give you a better view of the easel card and the box. I simply covered a plain 6 3/4" X 6 3/4" brown box with the dotted DP so that it would be a compliment to the card. I also added Pearl brads to the bottom as footsies and decorated in the same manner as the card, adding the lovely White Guipure Lace around the lid's edge with Pearl inserts.

Aeroplane at Lili of the Valley

A very Happy and Fun Saturday to each of you!! I hope you had a splendid week and are now moving right along into an even better weekend!! They usually are, aren't they?!?!

I have another little SNEAKY PEEKY for you from the upcoming It's A Boy Thing Collection at LOTV. There are 16 new little Boy/Bear stamps and they all give you a glimpse into the imaginations of the little tykes! They are all so darling. The release time is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, at Midnight UK time! So mark you calendars---you don't want to miss it!!! You can check out loads of SNEAKY PEEKS of this new, amazing collection at the LOTV Ideas to Inspire site!!

I have used the AEROPLANE cutie and I can just imagine how this little one is thinking about all of the world adventures he can have on that homemade airplane!!! I used Bazzil for the base and all double matting, the DP is from the Pack Your Bags Collection by Kaisercraft, and all background and image panels are machine stitched. The image was colored with Copics. For the midground I used a LOTV Grunge Postcard, a Trip Highlights journaling card, and a ticket to ANYWHERE--all held with a little nickel clip. For the horizontal I used a bit of gray twill with a nickel ribbon slide. The sentiment is from the wonderful LOTV Circular Mixed Sentiments Set. And finally to finish the front I used a WANDER token and a nickel cornerpiece. Makes you want to fly away for parts unknown!!!!



On the first panel on the inside I propped up a couple of matted blocks of fun tickets which are from the paper pack! The second jotting panel is a shield which I have stitched around, adding nickel brads to each of the points!

Hello Little Butterfly at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge

A very Happy Friday to each of you!!! Gosh, it's almost weekend again and I know we all live for those!! I hope that the weather is beautiful wherever you may be and that you can enjoy it as much as I intend to!!!

This week at Just Magnolia and hÄnglar & stÄnglar Challenge we are hosted by the very talented Carol for our Special Monthly Challenge - Anything Goes with the option of stitching - either faux or real. The fabulous prize this week is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!! So come on over and play along with us!!!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base and all double matting and the DP is from the Chanteuse Collection by Kaisercraft. All background panels are machine stitched. The sweet image I used is from the Butterfly Dreams Collection at Magnolia-licious. Hello Little Butterfly was stamped on XPress It Blending Card and colored with Copics. The little butterfly was covered with Prima Glitter. The image was cut out with double Nesties. for the verticcal I added some MFT die cut borders along with some ruffle edge organza ribbon. The ribbon treatment holds a few small green organza butterflies. The little bouquet resting on MS punched branches is made of those yummy Sweetheart Blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts. The front and image panel were finished with 2 sizes of WOC Self-Adhesive Pearls.



The inside is quite simple. I added a silver butterfly charm to the double bow on the first panel and on the second panel I used the same MFT border die for the jotting spot.

Astronaut at Lili of the Valley

A marvelous Thursday to each of you!!! I hope you are having a marvelous week and are preparing for a spectacular weekend!! I know I am!!!

On May 11, Lili of the Valley will be introducing the cutest and sweetest Little Boy and Bear images and I am giving you a little SNEAK PEEK today of one of the little darlings!!! So often we only think of little girls' cards but with this release you will be so thrilled with such cuties for little boys!!! If you have a peek over at LOTV Ideas To Inspire Blog, you can see lots of SNEAKY PEEKS of these little sweeties!!!

The card base and all matting is Bazzill and the DP is from an old Tapestry Collection called Outer Space. The darling image was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics, adding a computer generated HI to the pennant. The image was framed with a contrasting DP, adding a glittery space ship to the forefront. Is he not the cutest little tyke holding his astro bear and check out the astro bunny in the rocket!!! Too cute and funny!!!! I added some outer space buttons for alot of texture. The sentiment is from the new LOTV Clear Additions Range--Mixed Circular Sentiments and was cut out with double Nesties.



On the first panel of the inside I used some glittery star buttons with gold cording to simulate shooting stars. And for the jotting panel I used two glitter outlined Nestie Stars together with a Man in the Moon charm.

I hope you like my little fun creation and I know you are as excited as I am for Wednesday, May 11, when all of these little darlings at LOTV will be available for purchase...yippppeeeee!!! That's less than a week away!!!

Nancy with Bouquet at The Stamping Bazaar

Happy Wednesday everyone!!I hope you are having a magnificent week! I wanted to make a quick post today after I heard from the winner at SUNDAY SENSATIONS so I hope you will enjoy this little cutie!

I was asked by Susan and Emma at The Stamping Bazaar fill a Special Guest Designer Spot today by selecting an image and making a card for the store's Blog. I was so honored to be able to make this little card for them! Thanks, Susan and Emma, for inviting me to share in your wonderful blog today!! I selected Nancy with Bouquet, the cutest little hedgehog ever!! Of course I had to ask what this animal was since I don't think we have hedgehogs here...lolol.

For my card I used Bazzill for the base and all double matting and the DP is from Basic Grey Hello Luscious paper pack. The two background panels are machine stitched. Nancy was colored with Copics and her little smock was paper pieced with the same paper from the vertical panel. This panel was edged with a MFT die cut. For the horizontal I used a double-faced satin ribbon tied into a double flat bow. The flower in Nancy's hair, the bouquet resting on the bow, and all pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts: Sweetheart Blossoms which are available in 12 magnificent colors and Self-Adhesive Pearls.
