MINI Friends go Shabby Chic at Wild Orchid Challenge
A marvelous Monday to everyone!! I hope you have had a very nice weekend and are all in line for a GREAT week ahead!
Today is a new Wild Orchid Challenge which will run for 2 weeks. This time we have a Shabby Chic Friendship theme and as always you can be assured that there will be a fabulous prize offered by the marvelous Wild Orchid Crafts Shop. So come on over and join in with us!!!
For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base and all double matting; the DP is from the Tilda Flowergarden Paper Pad, and all background panels are machine stitched. Now where to begin???? lol...I started with the darling little MINI Twins from Magnolia-licious, stamped them on Cryogen White and colored them with Copics, adding a touch of Stickles. Around the image I used some Stempelglede swirls stamped with chalk. I then made a chipboard frame for them which I covered first in a molding medium and squished the pearly heirloom buttons around the frame. I then gathered some MF Crepe Paper on the machine and encircled the frame with that. For the vertical I used a wide pink silk ribbon tied into a double flat bow, adding a little string of pearls as I tied the bow which dangles a silver locket (the rose is actually much pinker than the photo). I then added some bits and pieces from a WOC Pearl Swirl in the lower left corner. The bottom floral treatment is all from Wild Orchid Crafts: a 35mm Trellis Rose, 20mm Open Roses, and Hip Rosebuds, some of them touched with a bit of white acrylic paint. To complete the front I rolled down the corner and held it with another button...you can see that I also used a WOC Paper Doily as the base for a tiny bouquet of 4mm Closed Rosebuds tied with pink and green wee tiny silk ribbons. Whew!!! If I have forgotten anything please jot me a note!!!
The first panel on the inside is a shabby collage of several things I have found all over the place--tag, glittered heart with pearl swirl, silver key, keyhole, buttons, and I have also stamped a Friendship sentiment by Stempleglede. In the corner I used one of the lovely WOC Decorative Metal Corners, sprayed with white acrylic. The second panel is just a cutout rose with bow added of the tiny pink and green silk and another button.
I hope you like my little creation, will let me know what you think, and will join in with us this fortnight so that we can see your wonderful Shabby Chic Friendship cards!! We would love for you to drop over to the Wild Orchid Challenge to check out the magnificent cards made by the WOC DT!!
Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you will want to come by often!!! Remember that there is a SUNDAY SENSATIONS from Magnolia-licious and another SWEET STUFF available which you will find by either scrolling or clicking on them on my right sidebar. I hope to see you again real soon...until then, have a delightful week!! Big hugs!!
