Today at the Wild Orchid Challenge the theme is Victorian or Old-Fashioned Christmas. You don’t have to use Wild Orchid Crafts products to enter, but if you do that would be wonderful. You can combine our challenge with any other challenges of your choice and as long as you follow the theme for this challenge and you link back to Wild Orchid Challenge blog you will qualify to be in the draw for the fab prize. Shown above, you can see that I made a card and decorated a matching box for a little gift for a special friend!
For the card, I used bazzill for the base and all matting and the DP is Noel Holly by Bo Bunny! All background panels are machine stitched. The images are reproductions of Victorian postcards from Lunagirls (I think). I used a mesh and satin ribbon for the vertical adding a Hunter Organza bow and a rose button. The floral treatment is 20mm Open Roses, 5mm Closed Rosebuds, 8mm Semi-Open Roses, and Aster Daisies all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The flowers are placed on a gold fern and gold glittered leaves. All of the flowers are Stickled with Champagne Stickles. To finish the front I added a German scrap Merry Christmas and a gold Victorian fan to the bottom corner.
For the inside of the card I used the same ribbons and added a Prima Say It In Pearls and Lace Swirl and added a gold Victorian shoe at the jotting spot.
Since the gift box is bigger than the card, I used the same materials and flowers and made the treatment larger. Around the outside of the top of the box I used 1.5" Burgundy Pleated Satin for the base and topped it with a unique gold trim which is more visible in the picture below. On the corners, I added cream tassels held with pearl buttons.
